I buy off them but don't have a credit account, I applied when i first moved but hadn't sorted out the eloctoral roll so they refused me a credit acc but said i can basically pay as i go .I place my order then go into my account to pay straight away. After initially being a bit miffed i find it works better for me as its paid for before it arrives.
Might be worth giving them a ring requesting no credit option. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks for the link Spendless. That's given me some good ideas 😃0

Is she someone that will cause an atmosphere? or can it just be generally ignored/brushed off? Hopefuully one person won't bring a dampner.
That's a genius idea!! Will save the drama on xmas day of trying to get the toys out of the wrapping. Thank you
We'll make the most of it, but it won't be what we had imagined, and hubby won't want to spend with someone who doesn't like him and makes snippy comments at every opportunity, but it's just the way it is. I had to spend Christmas with his dad last year so I'd say fair's fair :rotfl:
We've already agreed that when we have kids everyone will be coming to us instead, no more travelling up and down the country for hours to try and please all family members!
I'm glad to hear the present suggestion was useful. I'd definitely be taking off all boxes and cable ties and things that prevent easy access to toys on the day. Plus if you don't mind second-hand gifts, you could mix in some pre-loved toys with the de-boxed new ones and no-one would be any the wiser! Very MSE :money:0 -
Evening all!
I'm taking a quick break from working (I was meant to finish at 5!) to drop in and catch up on all the festive fun - definitely some light relief after a pretty intense day (and evening) at work!
I've seen some more festive chocs creeping into the shops recently and it's getting exciting! Also seen Halloween things around, which basically means it's Christmas right? It's a busy time in the Kaya family - my birthday on 31st October, my brother's on 5th November (I like to tell people I was scared out by a ghost and he was scared out by a firework) and then Christmas! I love everything about this time of year, and am so very excited to put a proper coat onDoes that make me really sad?

Hello! You can tell it's getting to that time of year - I've not been on for a few days and the thread has moved on abut 5 pages! The rest of the year it would only move on about 1 or 2!
linz yes the early wake-ups certainly make for a long day!
Creamcrackerstwo thanks for the tip on where to get the tin, I shall have a look!
Sezzagirl thanks for suggesting the baby sleeping bag, we have actually used sleeping bags since he was tiny but we thought we'd try blankets as he'd get in funny positions and wondered if the sleeping bag was stopping him from moving back again. Alas it has made no difference!
Mrs Ryan the rugby player sponsorship is a lovely idea, especially as you are a big fan. It must be great for you to feel involved. Thanks for explaining.
3forholidays I think i'd always be happy with cash! Also, i'm sure they get plenty of presents so it might be nice for them to be able to use it on what they want.
mrsinvisible oh Wiggle has never had a problem flexing his muscles!
Junior good to see you popping in! I'm sorry to hear that you have been affected more after having other treatment, I really hope they can sort it out for you soon. Sending you lots of hugs.
feisty how is everything with you? Are you doing ok?
Hello and welcome to all newbies!
I went to Harry Potter studio tour on Saturday, oh I do love Harry Potter! I am not ashamed to admit that I was very sad that the Hogwarts Express didn't actually take us to Hogwarts...
We've been staying at my parents for the last few days which was nice but a bit challenging as Wiggle is being very clingy at the moment as well as still waking up at all hours. He is doing brilliantly at his walking though and now happily walks around loads by himself which is great. We've got his MMR jabs this morning which i'm not looking forward to, and we've heard that a lot of babies can be quite tetchy afterwards and don't sleep well so will have to see what happens.
We popped to a garden centre on Monday to take Wiggle to see the fish, I was extremely excited to see Christmas stock twinkling away only to find that they'd BLOCKED IT ALL OFF!!! Only you fellow Christmas nuts will know what torture that was for me! They were obviously still putting out their Christmas display and wanted to keep people out. It looked like they had some really lovely stuff too I just couldn't get to it!
DH is giving me some time to sit in bed with a cuppa as I've had another night of being up and down. I've got a friend visiting today which is nice, I just hope Wiggle isn't too grumpy after his injections! DH has now got a new job starting in two weeks which is great, I just have to brace myself for looking after Wiggle all day everyday after him being off for five months! I know I can as I did it before, it'll just take some adjusting again not having that spare pair of hands. His job is working from home though so we'll be able to see him on his breaks and lunchtime etc which is nice.
Anyway i'm rambling now so am signing off - have a lovely day everyone! x0 -
Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm really liking the organised christmas printables. I just google organised christmas and went to the printables section. Bought a small folder from the Poundshop and filled it up. Looks great. Most of the stuff is not really my thing but there's a few that are really good. Not going to follow the plans though.
Made a good start on my presents. Finished mil and a few of the kids in the family. Just waiting til next month to buy all the gifts vouchers I need. That's a huge chunk taken care of. Everyone's getting older now and it to hard to think of decent presents as I'm quite practical so it either needs to be something useful or a really special treat but when your spending a tenner it gets quite hard so I fingers a voucher and some chocolates are really appreciated.
Bought a few other things,a samsung galaxy tablet for my mum which is from me and my 2 sisters and dd1 some Harry Potter pop vinyl figures. My sisters and I have also decided what to buy step dad so I feel like I'm making progress. Made a card list at work yesterday so I now know I need 13 separate nice cards for family.March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
Congratulations to DH on his new job PrincessKitty and hope Wiggle moves on from his restless/grumpy phase very soon. Still can't believe he's walking, the time has gone so quickly!
Loving that the thread is picking up so much now and so much talk of pressies and wrapping. We've decided that four of us will put our £10 together to buy DSIL a PS4 game for Christmas. I like doing the £10 limit but there are some people it just doesn't work for - DSIL is one so rather than waste the money we'll get him one bigger pressie between us. I've done the Amazon voucher thing where you get £10 if you buy £40 (yes, I was one of the chosen ones lol) so that should come today and then I can reserve the game and then put the other £10 towards some Christmas books for my Kindle instead of only getting the free ones.
If anyone sees Ferrero Rocher on a good deal please can you post it? Have bought one of DDs four half bottles of wine (4 bottles for £5) and want some chocs to go with them and then I'll dress them up in a basket so they look better. She loves FR so thought I'd get them but as I don't eat them I'm not really sure when they're at a good price. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Have a £6 off at smyths voucher, except our smyths is currently in the middle of road works hell... has to be used before the end of road works so am trying to decide if that £6 off is worth it!!Swagbucks £190 since 25/02

Have ordered a couple of xbox games & a few small gifts for ds, some decorations for his room & the house. I have plenty of wrapping paper etc but need to get in the loft & sort out decorations into colour schemes. I am going minimalist & tasteful in the living room but will be decorating the kitchen & hallway & bathrooms in a "Christmas just vomited in here" styleI don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
