It was raining here so i didnt bother, ooh me too i would love love love to see the Northern Lights one day, they are amazing! Hope DH is having a good day today

PRINCESSKITTY oh you will be surprised, things that used to bring me joy just dont now, it is surprising how we change. Mind you i could now kick myself i got rid of my juicer at the beginning of the year because i havent used it for years and it was just collecting dust, now yesterday my DD2 popped over and brought some juices her and her friend have made, omg they were absolutely gorgeous and DD2 is thinking of buying one :mad::mad: guess who feels guilty at throwing one out??? Love the mug cake sachets i will look out for them thankyou

MONEYMISSION haha it is torrential atm here i dont think an umbrella would cut it, i would sit out on the verandah but we havent done that bit yet and it is covered in some creeper weed thing :o Yes i was shocked at her going this week, such a shame she did so well last week, but really did have a bad week this week, but like you said quite a few had problems. I did feel for Nadiya when Sue broke her bowl  and poor Alvin how he kept it together i dont know, the pressure they must be under is phenomenal, i couldnt do it! I am just baking a Black Forest Gateau from last weeks show today and am trying to make chocolate shards to go around the outside (ooh get me) it probably wont work but hey i will have fun and no one will be judging my efforts ;)

Wow Aliaslottie you got some good bargains there. Welcome back too.

Free unfortunately I didn't see anything of the meteor shower - the stars were quite clear but there was quite low cloud so nothing else really visible. Must admit I was disappointed but don't suppose I was the only one.

Pink that throw sounds lovely - might just have to pop into Primarni and have a look.

MoneyMission, ha ha, I always say Christmas Eve Eve too. Actually Christmas Eve is my favourite day of the year and Christmas Eve Eve is my second favourite!

Was talking to my sister this morning about plans for Christmas day this year. I did dinner last year and then we decamped to hers for the afternoon and tea. Thinking about eating out this year but have to make our minds up soon or we won't get booked. Will have to talk to DDs to see what they think.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :

Evening everyone, i forgot to say the other day Christmas dinner is here this year, DD2 and OH and DGS decided that after hosting last year they will now do one year with me and one year with OHs family, fair enough :D so that will give me something else to plan, i am already thinking of table gifts, DD2 is very lucky and going to New York in December with OHs family all expenses paid except for spending money :eek: so i am going to ask her to go into the big M&M shop and bring me a load of christmas coloured M&Ms and i will fill jars and put a christmas scratchcard inside for everyone, they do love their christmas scratchcards i have found a lovely way of wrapping them on Amazon, all i did this afternoon was browse anything christmassy on Amazon :o very naughty but i just felt in a christmassy mood, i didnt buy anything but have totally topped up my Wish List :rotfl:

PEPPAPIG oh what a shame you didnt see anything, from what i have heard it was too cloudy here as well. I second Christmas Eve being my favourite day of the year too!

CARLISLELASS its great when you know all you need are the last minute perishables isnt it?

MoneyMission - I too was very surprised about the GBBO elimination! I wasn't too enamoured with this week's show in general - biscuit week has NOTHING on all the amazing cakes!

Freespirit - Winter Glow and Cosy by the Fire sound lovely! I'm glad you call them flavours - I call sweets 'red flavour' and 'black flavour' etc. in the same way :D

Peppapig - Christmas Eve is my favourite day too! I get quite sad on Christmas Day, tragic as that sounds, when it's all basically over :( I love love love the anticipation and the general festive season (which for me started about a month ago), and Christmas Eve is still magical for me at 23!

I had a little (planned) trip to the hospital yesterday - I'm a type 1 diabetic, and have had some trouble with my eyes in the past couple of years. I had diabetic cataracts removed from both eyes in 2013, and I have been struggling with posterior capsular opacification (where the lenses cloud over again) in the last few months. Yesterday I had a quick little procedure to laser through the clouding, and now I'm seeing in technicolour out of my right eye (I'm convinced it's unnecessary for anyone to see this much detail, but you know...) The thing that concerned me slightly was when the nurse wanted to check my blood sugar, and I asked if I could do it myself. He said, 'Well how will you do that? You don't have the equipment' and I said, 'I do, I have to carry my blood sugar testing kit everywhere!' and he didn't believe me! I had to show him my kit and show him that I could do it myself, and he looked INCREDULOUS! Type 1s have to check their blood sugar multiple times a day, and I was quite unnerved that a nurse didn't know this!

Looks like there's quite a bit of time being spent in hospitals by us lot at the moment - I know it's rough, but I'm sending good vibes to everyone else from the very soggy south coast tonight.

I've also found a very pleasing thing to do - I've been searching 'Christmas' in the search bars of various websites and seeing what pops up! For instance, if you do it on ASOS, you get Christmas jumpers, cards, pyjamas... and all reduced, because they're last year's stock (but who's going to know or care?) I'm clearly a bit too keen for some of the websites though, which tell me that the Christmas shop is closed and to come back soon for Christmas 2015, hahaha!

If DD is off to New York you could also request that she visits the Christmas shop in Little Italy! (more info here) My friend and I stumbled across it purely by chance, and we spent about an hour in there (in March) cooing over all the pretty decorations. Some of the items were reduced when I was there too, so I picked up a few little bits to remind me of my trip.

My family's Christmas tree is covered in decorations we've picked up on our travels, and it's so nice to remember all the nice places we've been when we're decorating the tree! :)

Saw this on the Bay of Fleas last night if anyone is thinking of doing little token gifts. Mind you, I think a single mini cane is stretching the meaning of token! I was thing of getting little Santa trousers, and putting in 1 or 2, with maybe lip salve and other little things like that.
