Bought some Christmas stuff in the John Lewis sale (online) last night. Trying to justify to myself really, though don't know why. I bought three little Christmas trees in pots (table decorations that I can envisage on my console table in the hallway), 3 metal trees (to use on dining table on the day and as general display before and after the day and, crazy or what? I bought some little cutlery stockings (reduced to £5 for 2). My daughter paid quite a lot for hand made ones last year and I was going to make them but the price wasn't bad and I will have my hands full this autumn/winter with new babies and volunteering for Mencap. They will carefully be placed alongside the little colour changing trees I bought a couple of months back from JL. I really must stop now, I have more than enough decorations.

I think they were bargains, no justification needed :)
Evening everyone, thats my nana babysitting duties done for the week ;) wish me luck everyone, i have received a pm about winning a book on DIY Divorce, i have replied but it is first come first served, so knowing me i am already too late to the party :rotfl:fingers crossed

FEISTY she said 2 weeks from the appt but today i have had no pain so it has obviously healed itself, and actually the trapped nerve wasnt too bad today :) How are you doing, are you recovering well now? Glad it has gone quiet, quiet is what you need atm :)

MRSINVISIBLE i dont know about summer i nearly put the heating on for an hour today and i am down sarf!!! I am still sitting with a throw over my legs  ah bless DGS that did make me smile. Hope your skype went well with the chinese contingent :)

NEWTHRIFT ah homemade beauty gifts is a fab idea, we have a big tub of coconut oil and use it for lots of things it smells lovely :)

MANDCO oh blimey dont, i am really having to start dethumperising my house now! Stairgates, table corner covers, etc etc i am so sorry about your dad, i hope the chemo is successful in treating him, i hope the kids havent taken it too badly, sometimes we dont give them enough credit for coping with not very nice things in life, i hope it doesnt affect the one taking exams, that is enough to deal with on its own x

MRSMONEYPENNY yayy to the group hug :grouphug:

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY aww glad you had a fab time in egypt with your family, and enjoyed spending time with the kids. I bet the bed linen was a fab bargain :D i love squashy :rotfl:

PEPPAPIG thats it i couldnt remember his surname, Simon Bates :D Im glad someone else remembers it, omg was it really that long ago??? Love the fact that DD was horrified you hadnt started, a chip off the old block, yes?? I dont blame you for setting a limit, you really have to draw a line somewhere these days

WHITESATIN oh your trees sound lovely and cutlery pockets, i hope we get to see pics nearer the time :)

I'm really glad the pain has gone :)
I've made the most progress this week, but I'm supposed to be returning to work on Monday and seeing as I had to get DH to come pick me up when a stroll to the post office proved to be too much for me Monday, I'm not sure if I'm ready.
At the moment my days consist of maybe a bit of computer work, but mainly sitting around and watching TV. It takes it out of me just getting ready in the morning and yesterday I attempted dinner solo (just oven blasting a few bits and bobs) and I thought I was going to collapse.
My boss has said take as long as I need, but not sure if our income can take another weeks battering, we've already had to break into the house deposit fund and ask the in-laws to bail us out :(

Chrissy getting a formal diagnosis is the biggest step! Hopefully now you can get the medication and support needed to help you start to feel better. Much love xxx

    Hello everyone

Sorry to read that lots of you are not in best of health. Have a :grouphug: and I hope things improve soon.

On the competition front I've won a Weleda beauty set from a Marie Claire daily. :)

    Evening everyone

CHRISSY oh my lovely, i had noticed you havent been on much, sorry that you havent been feeling yourself and been diagnosed with depression, it is a cruel illness, but the positive thing is the tablets have already made you feel brighter, hopefully onwards and upwards now. I hope DD is well, sending you hugs x

FEISTY oh dear you sound as if you need at least another week off to get your strength back up, your health is much much more important than worrying about bills, debts etc otherwise if you go back too early you may undo all the building up you have done up until now x

3FORHOLIDAYS yayy prize number 2, well done you :)

Sorry in advance for the long post but I've not been on for a few days so had some catching up to do!

freespirit glad to hear the pain is getting better and virtually gone, hopefully that's the last of that. Fingers crossed you win the book!

feisty glad it's all gone quiet on the house front. As freespirit says it sounds like you definitely need more time off, it is not worth going back and risking your health. I know it's hard with bills etc but i'm sure the family know what a difficult time it is for you both and are happy to help.

mrsinvisible you sound like an excellent taxi service where you are, good for you for being so helpful, I bet they wouldn't know what to do without you! I hope the trip went well and the results were nothing serious.

newthrift homemade beauty products sound lovely, let us know how they go.

mandco so sorry to hear about your dad and the chemo, I hope it goes as well as it can. Hugs for you. I hope the kids took the news ok, they are resilient little things really and they've got you for support.

gettingtherequickly glad you had a lovely time away, love the kids word 'squishy'! :rotfl: And to be fair, squishy hugs are the best!

Peppapig yay for getting Christmassy bits! Funny that your DD was horrified you're not done yet! :p

whitesatin those bits sound lovely from John Lewis, no justification needed! You've inspired me to pop on and have a look! ;)

CHRISSYG I was thinking about you recently and wondering if you're ok. So sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with depression, but as others have said it is the first step to recovery. I'm glad the meds are helping. When I had post-natal depression I felt better when I got the diagnosis as I couldn't make sense of why I felt so bad, I hope you can work through it too.

3forholidays congrats on the win! Sounds lovely.

Nothing too exciting happening here, just getting jobs done and trying to enjoy the sunshine. I've ticked 3 more recipes off: Ham & egg quesadillas, black bean chilli and creamy mustard & tarragon chicken. I've got another one to make today: easy iced buns. Let's see how easy it really is! :p

I've been trying to go through my pins on Pinterest when I've had 5 mins as I've realised there's lots of things i've pinned but in reality will never do. I did come across a couple of Christmas presents i'd like to make though; Snowman popcorn for my friends two boys (one is my Godson) to give with a DVD and stovetop air freshener in a jar for a couple of my friends.

I received my Studio catalogue the other day and to say i'm disappointed is an understatement! I remember when Christmas stuff was right at the front and there was loads of it - now it's right at the back and not so much of it. :( I know it's obviously the way business has gone for them but I used to love it! It was a mid-year Christmas treat!

I've got lots to do today, we're going on holiday tomorrow to Dorset with DH's family so need to get packing etc. The only difficult thing with Wiggle's stuff is we need most of it until the last minute, so there'll be lots of rushing around tomorrow morning methinks!
  • Hi

Need to pick brain cells please :)

One of the littlies is looking for a bag which apparently she can colour in the patterns but can then be erased/washed off so she can re-do. Not heard of this before and apparently are quite expensive in Egypt so Mum asked if I could find one here.

Does anyone know what they are looking for or where I could source one? Tried google, but as I am not able to refine the search, it is coming up with a lot of unnecessary garbage.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

I know exactly what you mean gettingthere
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00TT8K1TO/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?qid=1434037816&sr=1-6&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_FMwebp_QL70&keywords=doodle+backpack&dpPl=1&dpID=61jyGSlJi9L&ref=plSrch

That one is pretty pricey as it's an American import

I'm not sure if this is washable or you're stuck with the design once coloured, you may need to contact the seller

This one can be re-done each time :)

Freespirit66 just quickly popping on to let you know my M&S giftcard arrived this morning so yours shouldn't be too far behind it as I remember we switched around about the same time :-)

Hope everyone's well...quite a few pages to catch up on which I will do hopefully after rehearsal tonight....feeling happy at the minute as we've managed to find a house....(for those that don't remember we were handed our notice on the house we're in at the minute, so the landlord could sell it) we move a month today......still no sofa though :-/
