I'd rather have a job I get up for and don't mind than have a job on £20k plus and be bored off my trolley just because it is a great paid job.
In don't think those are the only options0 -
Must be nice to have a few days to recuperate. I work in a museum, so I was at work for a full shift yesterday, and will be back again tomorrow (will be bringing in a tin of chocolate biccies for the workers, however.)
I was on JSA last Christmas, and yes I did a job search on Christmas Day and all the other BH. Is 30 minutes too much to ask for?0 -

Most people I know on £20k plus are either overworked ie teachers, doctors, nurses etc or stay in there jobs due to the money. I don't know many people who have the happy medium tbh:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

Oh for gods sake - I think even people on JSA should be able to enjoy xmas day without other people trying to make them feel guilty/obliged to look for work.
Happy xmas everyone0 -
It's a Public Holiday which trumps a Bank Holiday.
Anyway JC would never expect people to job search on Xmas day, just like they never expected job search 7 days a week, whatever some have assumed or been told by others.
.
Why not? after all JSA is actually paid over 7 days (had this confirmed when I was getting info for someone) so why shouldn't jobseekers seek jobs on the days they are paid to do so, I am paid to work over 5 days so that's what I work, if I was paid to work 7 days I wouldn't expect to work only 5 yet get the same amount of money.
I am of course paid to work over Christmas but its paid Holiday which means I lose 2 days out of my Entitlement, do job seekers lose 2 days out of the amount of Holidays they can take when on JSA - NO? thought not0 -

I don't think people like you are normal.0 -
Sounds to me like some folk have had such a miserable Christmas, they will find just about anyone or anything to complain about on Christmas day. Some folk are sad, lonely individuals, pity them rather than feed them.
Happy Christmas to EVERYONE, no matter what your employment status.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Appearance on UJM is no indication that a job actually exists.0 -

JSA is not pay.
If you have agreed to work over Christmas, that's up to you and you are being paid "employment" pay with statutory employment rights.0
