I made a post last year (unfortunately I don't know in which thread) and compared the day that 25th December fell on to when the Boots sale was. Despite popular opinion it doesn't always fall on the 3rd Wed after Christmas or the 3rd in Jan. In 2009 Dec 25th fell on a Friday like this year and the sale was scheduled to take place on 13th Jan but was put off a week due to bad weather conditions (with thanks to the info in the above posts). I will have a look to see if I can find my previous post and tomorrow I'm booking 13th Jan off work. ;)

    ok, I found it

Admittedly maths isn't my strong point, but I've just sat with pen and paper making a grid and looking at on-line calendars and

Dec 25th 2010 fell on a Saturday, so the following Wednesdays were
    2010 Wed 29th Dec,
2011 Wed 5 Jan, Wed 12 Jan, Wed 19 Jan

Dec 25th 2011 fell on a Sunday so the following Wednesdays were
    2011 Wed 28 Dec,
2012 Wed 4 Jan, Wed 11 Jan, Wed 18 Jan

So in both Jan 2011 and 2012 the 70/75% fell on the 4th Wednesday after Christmas.

If we go on the last time Christmas day fell on a Thursday from your chart,as it did for Christmas 2014, then the sale started on 14th Jan. Fingers crossed it will be that date as I'm off and working 21st!

Like I said my maths isn't great, so no offence taken if someone points out I've done it wrong.

Thanks BalletShoes, that is interesting :) I think half the fun is the anticipation and guessing the date

Deff more fun than sitting outside boots at 7.30am like a plum in jan :D

So basically it seems to be the wed of the 'teen' date in January if I'm broadly summarising?

I really don't recall the 90% sale last year but I don't think I really bothered with the 70% one except for some gift bags (of which I still have most this year) I got stung the year before with the fab S&G set at 75% off, only to relalise I wasn't really that I didn't really want most of it except the body scrub :o

There was a 90% sale last year but I can't remember the date, didn't pay much attention as nothing left that I wanted - it's usually just a bit of roll wrap, tags & teen fragrance sets. At a guess I'd say it's 2 Wednesdays after the 70% but don't quote me... Like I say I've never really gone all out for the 90% sale as not worth the effort IMPO.

The S&G The Whole She-Bang is getting reduced by an extra £5 from tomorrow, so will be £25.

I'm still pretty confident 70% day will be Weds 13th Jan...
they'll want to shift the stock to get the store looking fresh & the seasonal displays ready for their Suncare, Mothers Day & Easter stock (Both Mother's Day and Easter are early this year!).

A lot of stores have already done their further reductions - M&S, John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Waitrose etc... Boots will want to shift their stock & they know it won't all go at 50% off - as others have pointed out the savings not massive when you factor in it was 3for2 before Christmas.

The week after seems far too late - I know one year it was put back due to the snow but I think that was an exception.

I agree with Africat - I think the 70% sale will be next Wednesday (13th). Stores in Norwich don't appear to have anywhere near as much as they have had in previous years :-(

I don't think there will be much left for the 70% sale as lots of things are out of stock since the 50% sale that started on Boxing day

They tend to do a bit of stock movement between stores in the run up to 70% day so the large stores end up with most of the stock.
You never know; they may get some shipped in if you're near a larger store.

My local still has loads of these left ready for 70% day along with the big Sanctuary set and the Joules bag.
Not keen on the S&G bag/case it came in this time round so didn't bother & won't be tempted at 70% either though it is still a goo deal for hardcore S&G fans...
