The Deep is having real problems getting his - ask him how high the bar has been set for him to get over.

But I guess if he can jump that high , he won't qualify! :rotfl:

Since the rule changes they are harder to get than they were. Hence, I suspect, TD's difficulties. The general public tend to misunderstand their use (and who can use them) and also misunderstand that the provision, or otherwise, of a BB is not the sole indication of a disability and rights to reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

hope they have tightened the rules, as I've seen to many people using badges that clearly don't need them.

and don't get me started on the cars some get to go with the badges

Rather interested in the criteria you use to determine that. Perhaps you can give us some indication?

yes, two old people that I live next door to have a one, doesn't stop them walking the dogs 3 times a day.

A woman I know, walks the kids to school, leaves her mobility car at home.

A guy I work with has a mobility car, doesn't stop him walking around the office for 8 hours a day

!!!!!!. Not just for parking there in the first place but then for sitting there for seven hours just to save £105. Doesn't have much self-respect does he, let alone respect for anyone else?

I know the actual road and it was not far from where I work, there is a lot more to the story than meets the eye.
The space is not labelled as say in a supermarket BB space, there is just a little sign on a post nearby, so many can fall foul to parking in that space as it just looks like a regular pay & display space.
However the guy was onto something with the waiting 8 hrs before towing.
  • Blue badges are clearly an emotive subject and open to abuse and at times I feel awkward when utilising the one my daughter is entitled to. To the unknowing they may see my 16 year old daughter walking normally, though heavily medicated, them without warning her CRPS kicks in and her joints lock in her knees primarily, making walking nigh on impossible .
In light of her difficulties I have had to purchase at my own expense (and rightly so) a higher ride car for ease of access etc with additional expense of higher insurance and fuel costs
Though I appreciate many abuse the scheme to pre judge what may be the problem with the holder of a BB may be harsh and at this religious time let the man without sin cast the first stone :A

so you agree some misuse them but we should just keep quiet! sorry but just because someone is disabled doesn't mean the subject of abuse should not be rised.

If I had the slightest doubt I would not judge but the cases I have mentioned, I know are cases of misuse.

And why you need to quote the Bible beats me.

Indeed, and when a seventy four year old man with walking disabilities and type two diabetes does not qualify, I wonder how many others are being similarly discriminated against.

What gets my goat is that one of the reasons for refusal was that once I have had my knee operation I will not need one.

This is absolutely contrary to DfT guidelines, no one can guarantee a successful outcome, and I may not be suitable for surgery anyway. It appears to be just a box ticking exercise, which is why I am so determined to get one.
