Parking fine for parking mini van outside my home.

Options
i live on a private estate.

i parked the mini van i rented outside my flat in the parking bays .. this company called ukpc decides to fine me 100 quid ...

apparently "commercial vehicles" arent allowed after 7pm ... which is fair enough but atleast they shouldve let me know of this rule ?

should i ignore them or appeal ?

First things first, the opening line of the OP,s post States a rented van.
As the previous posts have said you need to read through the newbies stickies thread concentrating on hired/leased vehicles as time may be of the essence.
The last thing you need is the parking Cowboys which ever company it is to contact the hire company who may settle the invoice on your behalf.
To negate this you will need to appeal to the PPC as the keeper so they deal with you directly making no mention of who was the driver and start from there as per the numerous threads in the above stickies.
To save the more seasoned posters tearing their hair out and understably so you need to firstly provide more info , time, date, location and name of the PPC and do some leg work

Does it mention this 'no commercial vehicles' thing on the sign?

Additional appeal point if not, but you'll win this on the 'no loss' argument anyway.

As Fight the good fight says, you need to appeal this now. Do not state who was driving, refer to the driver as 'the driver...' in any appeal. State that you are the Keeper of the vehicle.

What does your lease/AST say about parking? If it specifically mentions commercial vehicles, then you are in breach. If you are a tenant you could be digging a hole for yourself especially if the other occupants complain to the MA.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

  • Roadgang as per previous post can you let us know when and by whom the ticket was issued, as with being a hire vehicle time is limited :T

No problem then - easily beaten at POPLA so send off the first appeal.
