I think what's the same as LL's approach to healthy eating and mine is the lack of processed food and cooking from scratch. I think the two tips I'd give would be planning (meal plan and stick to your shopping list of healthy foods) and eating plenty of vegetables. Fortunately I've never suffered from the food intolerances that LL does so my meals are a third lean meat/fish, a third carb and (at least) a third veg. I have three decent meals a day and almost never snack. That makes me sound saintly:o but I do have my treats. For me that's wine but I mostly limit that to weekends and only have crisps or the occasional cake on high days and holidays. I allow myself a break on holidays and meals out but I'm glad to get back to my usual eating routine afterwards.

:wave:roseh, I'll pop over and take a look at your thread, sounds interesting.

    Good morning lovely ladies

Yesterday we scattered mums ashes so what with that and completing on the house and then OHs anniversary a couple of weeks ago, I really do feel that it's the end of an era and time to think about how I want to live the rest of my life.

I feel good, content and happy.

Yesterday I picked up some white Capri pants and a bright pink vest top. This morning I tried on all my new purchases - well not quite all because some are a bit small yet.

I am currently an 18. My new purchases are all either 16s or 14s with a couple of free sizes. I know all the advice is not to buy anything to slim into, but I don't have a choice because the shops are filling up with winter clothes. It's now or never if I want summer/holiday clothes.

I'm almost at a 16 now so I should be ok by November, some of the more slim fitting 14s might not fit but the more generously cut things should fine. Still need to get some dressy sandals for evening wear. I think I will need to buy "dance" type shoes online because I can't see anything in the shops.

I'm blitzing the study and my bedroom today, happily Kondoing as I go. This afternoon I will attend to,all dads paperwork. The weather is warm enough but very dull.

Dont forget - Fab Friday. Although today I am just wearing joggies and a long sleeve t-shirt so I can get stuck in.

Lovely to read such positivity LL, and well done on the weight loss so far:)
I heard some sad news earlier about someone passing away quite suddenly that has saddened me and also it's got me thinking about how important it is to do the things you want to do while you can do them - going to really work on that from here on ... This sort of leads me to another decision; I'd had a telephone interview for a job and following this I've been invited to a formal interview - a long one with role play etc., for what amounts to a job I don't really want to do with full time, very awkward hours. i should also say that I didn't get a very positive vibe from the phone interview or when I rang to book the formal interview - just not a good gut feeling.
Until this morning, I was still going ahead with it regardless, because it suddenly has become so important to me to get a job - any job!
I now realise that this one isn't right for me, and it's ok to take a bit longer to find what I'm looking for, so I'm going to ring them and politely withdraw my application.
PHEW!! That was a bit long winded but I needed to get it out there!
I'm fabbed and perfumed - found a scent yesterday whilst kondoing the drawers in my bedroom that I'd forgotten I had! It still smells good and feels quite summery so I'm wearing that today:)
roseh I've just had a look at your thread - and its really good; what a great idea! And I second your tip about Garnier's miscellar water :)

Gone simple and chic (I hope) today

Navy chinos 7/8 length, white long sleeved shirt tucked in, black belt, black loafers, navy scarf tied round neck. At christmas I bought Jade Goody perfume in superdrug (or somewhere like) only £8 for that and a body lotion and shower gel - it's lovely and I am wearing it today also.

I feel quite good, even though it's simple

Anyone wear those silly socky things with loafers or ballet flats? how'd you get them to stay on?
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Sorrynto hearyour sad news Ellsbell.

I'm afraid that someone passing, even if they not particularly close to you does pull you up and make you think.

Well done on rethinking your job interview. I think you are right, trust those gut instincts and you can't go far wrong.

I agree. I think just going through the process has been a step forward ellsbel. You've had the confidence to look, apply, go through the telephone interview and it's helped you make a decision about the sort of job you're looking for. That's progress. Now keep looking and keep moving forward.

Sorry to hear your sad news but if it's helping you to think about what you want from life then it has an upside.:)

Obviously being comfortable in a 16 would be progress LL, but just keep going and you'll be surprised and delighted when you get into the 14s. Fortunately, nothing's cost you too much so no expensive mistakes if the 16s are falling off you by November!:rotfl:

That sounds like just my sort of outfit VJ. I like the preppy, Parisian look. Interesting about the perfume. All I seem to like at the moment is my Clarins Eau Dynamisante. It's just fresh and clean smelling but I could really do with an eau de parfum that would last a bit longer. I must make a tour of the beauty counters!

I did Fab Friday. Warmish with sunny intervals here but not summery enough for bare legs. Went to lunch with a friend and wore black skinnies, black ballet pumps and my dusky pink Jigsaw top. I did get to wear my Raybans but also my black cardi most of the day!:rotfl:

Sitting room is all cleared ready for the painter tomorrow. That's made the rest of downstairs a mess. Fingers crossed he'll turn up.

The hard thing about finding something that smells fresh but lasts really well is most of us associate citrus smells with freshness, but they are top notes and will fade quickly. The kinds of things that really last are more things like vanilla, musks, vetyver.

I adore shopping for perfume but I must steer clear as I have at least twenty bottles on the go. All kept tucked away in their boxes in a cool room so not in imminent danger of going off, but nonetheless, not MSE to have so many that I would struggle to even remember them all without looking.

I have a few too many evening perfumes - too loud for anything other than nights out, when I am really a day time girl - e.g. more likely to go for a day out in the country or at the seaside with the boyfriend and then have the evening at home than be going on glamorous late nights out at fancy restaurants and night clubs.

Had a good facial yesterday. Lots of "extractions" (getting rid of black/white heads) which are uncomfortable but the hydradermie is the best facial I have had - both deep cleansing and hydrating. Re-painted my nails that I'd smudged through impatience yesterday. Am sure we're told nail polish goes off after a while, but I am wearing Chanel's Miami Peach which I bought in the duty free on holiday in 2005 so it's clearly quite a long while.

    Ta :D

In contrast today I am wearing paint spattered elderly trousers and one of OH's old shirts - also paint spattered.

Hopefully I will scrub up a little better later :p
