Tesco Scan Pack Pay

I love Scan & Pay, those that do it pay the same as me for their shopping by DiY.............. & I get through the 'manned' checkouts faster. So thanks.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0

I love the Scan as you Shop too.
Never any queues at my local (they have 6 tills). I've been 'randomly selected' maybe 1 in 10 times so not too bad, and it only takes a minute for the operative to scan 3 or 4 items.
That's where my local one is going wrong, they are checking too many people and doing 100% checks with them all.
The first time I didn't mind at all, the second time was a bit annoying and the third was when we had around a 20 minute wait because they were checking so many.
We scanned 100% correctly all three times so you'd think there would be a way of marking that against your club card details so you get less frequent checks. I'd still expect to be check some times but not every time I use them. They could also just do a random check for say 10 items but they have checked every item all three times, defeats the whole point of the system.0 -
stopped using it as always took longer as every single time flipping machine wanted Human intervention from staff..............I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0

I've used it once I think... didn't occur to me to pack the items as I was going around. Ended up with a 100% check anyway so probably to my advantage!
I like the idea of being able to see the running total of my shop as (living with my parents and not doing the grocery shopping) I often get a bit of a shock at the till!0 -
Yep use these all the time, the only thing to watch out for (I found this out the hard way) whilst if an item is miss-priced in store, Tesco will refund the difference.
On the scan and shop they won't, I was told that the onus is on the shopper, as the correct price is listed on screen.
Personally, I don't like it. I brought a top with a large bright yellow sticker affixed to it (as all of them did on the rack) only after I brought it did I realised I had paid more. It didn't occur to me to check my own pricing when something I labelled so clearly.
Other than that, they are a great system, I hardly ever get stopped, and the wait times are greatly reduced.0
