No compensation but she can ask if will they allow a cancellation . But as the broadband comes down the BT line this fault will probably transfer to the new provider .

they should'nt bill for the broadband until its working , they may offer a reduced rental charge for a while

but go "nice" on the phone not all guns blazing as its more likely to work, something along the line of "I hope I won't get billed until its working" and "is there anything you can do to help because of the inconveniance ? "

No, what I mean is thinking you/your daughter is then entitle to compensation because of something so frivolous is hilarious.

OP don't expect superior service from BT, by your own admission you are "!!!!ed off" and "shouting at" call centre works who are not to blame for the problem - they're probably not inclined to go out of their way to help.

Also, I'd strongly suggest forgetting about Netflix and Xbox live via a dongle.

First of all the speeds will be crap/lagging (unless you have good 4G) and secondly data costs will exceed £10 within the first few hours.

Compo is paid if a business line is not installed by the agreed date. Residential, not a chance until the service is officially activated. Many things can conspire to prevent service starting - they actually want your custom, not give you dates then wind you up because they prefer to.
