Oh, that takes me back. My Nan and Mum would never give a purse as a present without a coin in it otherwise superstition would dictate that the recipient would always be poor. It didn't work though - we were always poor anyway!:rotfl:
You should never buy a purse for yourself as well as that is bad luck too. Where do these superstitions come from :rotfl:
Debt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

  • Counted up my £2 coins for the end of the month (I won't be spending tomorrow) and now have £110:beer:.

Not bad considering I don't tend to spend much so don't get too much change these days.

Yes. My mum taught me that too. So I always put a coin in if I give someone a money container ( purse , money box etc).

well done 'Starting Again' I don't get so many as I use to for the same reason. I rely on hubby to get me some or I swap them with other people.

tis true about the coin and purse thing...

In regard to the terrimundi capacity I thought they hold around 800 in £2 coins and the bigger ones hold 3k in silver, although my smaller one is getting tight at £500 in £1 coins...

I was going to open mine at Christmas but I have booked a 3 week trip to SE Asia in July next year & have decided to just keep saving & hopefully have a more significant amount that I can spend on holiday. :)
