Hubby did his duty and came home with 2 x £2 coins yesterday.
I enjoyed hearing the sound as they plopped into my pot.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Swapped a coin with my OH last night bringing me to a total of £158 (it may be higher in reality as I lost track of which coins I'd logged on one or two occasions but decided to play safe and not declare them!). According to my tally so far I'm only one coin away of equalling my achievement from 2013 but still a little way to go to beat last years total.
I bought a sealed money tin a couple of weeks ago which I plan to use in 2016 to save my coins in - I don't know how many will fit in it, but intend to use the contents to treat myself to something nice once it's full. I've also been thinking about christmas gifts for friends & family this last few weeks and have pretty much decided to buy everyone terramundi pots. I thought it would be a great thing to incentivise my friends to stash some cash away so they can treat themselves to something special once they've filled them up.£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

That's a good idea for a Christmas present. Are you going to put the first coin into each of them?2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Oh, that takes me back. My Nan and Mum would never give a purse as a present without a coin in it otherwise superstition would dictate that the recipient would always be poor. It didn't work though - we were always poor anyway!:rotfl:0 -

Thanks guys, that's a nice idea to include a coin with them as well (although I do wonder if the rattle will either give the game away or keep them nicely perplexed as to what on earth the gift is lol). I had no idea there was a superstition about gifting purses without a coin - I'm not superstitious mind you
I intend to identify how many £2 coins can be held by the pots I choose to get and include a message in the parcel as I think this would help to add incentive to use £2 coins instead of smaller change, however, can I part with my beloved £2 coins to start them all off?! I mostly jest as I do bank my coins rather than holding on to them throughout the year so it's not really an issue for me!I might even do smaller pots for the kids in each household as well instead of the usual toys or clothes...
