i watched it and it was quite strange.
a carer washed his intimate parts while his partner sat and wa§tched.
    but this is sensationalist television.
we only see the pee takers because joe average who claims for the help they need, is just boring to watch

I'm glad I didn't see it, then. He allowed filming of washing his intimate parts? Uuuuugh. Not a pretty sight.

The partner is more than capable of washing and dressing him. The carer would be better utilised caring for someone who doesn't have a partner to look after them.

I too have an under active thyroid. I take 2 x 100 thyroxine tablets a day. I walk regularly. If I eat more than 1200 calories/day I put on weight. I have found the 5-2 diet works well for me as I don't get that hungry so 500 calories is easy. When my thyroid first packed up I went from 9stone to 14 very quickly eating (my dietician worked out) 400 calories a day. I struggled to eat even that little as I had no desire for food. I now weight 10stone 8lbs and it has been a long slow process. I get really annoyed when people say 'just needs a bit of will power'. Good luck to them if they find dieting easy, if exercise is enjoyable, if they are one of the lucky ones that don't get fat. I love cooking and we eat a good varied diet with little fat or sugar.
My normal food is 20gms sugar free muesli with semi skimmed milk for breakfast, mug of vegetable soup and an apple for lunch and an evening meal for example 20gms pasta, a tomato and chilli sauce with prawns and some vegetables, small yogurt and banana or chicken thigh with curry sauce and rice. I rarely eat sweets, crisps, cake or processed food but I've still struggled to lose weight. Not everyone who is overweight exists on a diet of kebabs and fish and chips.

So because i have MS and OA and RA, mobility very slow due to pain, drugs taken to try to stabilize MS i am bigger because of the drugs, its my own fault, geeze kill me now.

OP such a self righteous post, 'oh look at me i was fat and i needed the NHS to help me, i lost weight and i am fine you too can be as smug as me...'

Try walking in another mans shoes before making judgmental comments, I bet you look at someone with a hidden disability, cant see the disability and therefore tell them there is nothing wrong with them they are just lazy? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You eat carbohydrates (oats/pasta/rice). Try cutting those. Eat as though carbohydrates were a treat. Would that help? I too do 5:2 and have found that I have naturally reduced eating carbohydrates. I maintain now and keep to my ideal weight.

but, too few carbs over a long time period can lead to liver/kidney probs, so be careful. I do sympathise, though, as I lose weight better when I cut carbs right down :(
