    Hi again,

Sounds like they may of closed your account, and sold on the debt to a DCA, keep an eye out for the postman in the next few days.

If that's the case, post back if you want any further advice.

Most likely it's been sold to a DcA, this isn't usually a bad thing as most DcA seem happy to continued with agreed payment plans.

Realise in your case they didn't formally agree, but by accepting the payment you could say payment was 'agreed'.

Can you pay without loggin in the site ?

I did think this might be the case.
Yes I think I have old payment slips that I can take to the post office to make payment.
Do you think this would be a good idea?
    Thanks

I think you should save your payments somewhere and, if a DCA does eventually get in touch, you may be able to offer a sum in full & final settlement, knowing that they will have bought it for something like 10p in the pound.

Or if you are really curious, write and ask why they have blocked online access, but I'd leave it for now.

    Hi All,
Looking for a bit of advice again about my catalogue debt. It has now been 10 months since the catalogue company contacted me. As previously mentioned, they blocked my account access online so was unable to make any further payments to them. This is when I expected either a letter from a DCA or a knock at the door but have received neither.
My concern now is why have they not contacted me in anyway and is it possible I should be waiting for a CCJ? Or is this not likely with a catalogue debt especially when they can not provide me with a copy of my credit agreement?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi again Angel,

It highly unlikely they will go to court, as they have no proof.

You can't simply take someone to court on hearsay, you need to provide the court with evidence of the debt, they can't do that, as they don't hold a copy of your agreement.

Usual senario is you will never hear another thing about it, or they may sell on your debt, and you would then have to rinse and repeat with them.

One of my unenforcable debts went round over 15 DCA's chasing it, but they held no agreement, so we're stuffed, same applies to your account.

Thanks so much for your reply sourcrates. Your advice has always been well received and much appreciated.
I think what is worrying me is the fact they have not been in contact for 10 months and in the new year it will be 2 years since my initial contact to advise them of my financial difficulties and to make an offer of repayment.
I guess I just have to continue to sit tight, fingers crossed and hope for the best.
    Thanks again.

They can, and DCAs especially often do, hoping to win by default or where the lack of paperwork is not challenged.

If this is still with the catalogue company, then they don't tend to go to court themselves. Most likelihood of that is if it is sold to a DCA who then does. If you get notice of it being sold then priority would be to make them aware of the issue of non compliance from the OC, and that it remains unenforceable due to that despite any sale.
