Help with phone tariff offer O2
I've been with O2 for a couple of years and now is the time for me to get a new phone. I was paying around £10 per month for 400 minutes I think and unlimited texts. I want to get a new phone as the old one is knackered....charger port not working. I would also like some web data allowance. I contacted O2 and this seems to be the best they can offer.
What do you guys think? Is it a good offer? I don't use the telephone that much. I only sometimes go over my limit using my current phone. Thanks.
Samsung Galaxy S III Mini Ceramic White with 0 upfront cost, monthly device plan £5.00 tariff for £8.00 which gives you 100 minutes, Unlimited texts and 100MB data, I'll also give you extra 500 O2 to O2 minutes for free, the total deal is for £13.00

Hi Ader1,
Personally I think the deal is OK, however you can get better. The bonus of O2 to O2 extra minutes is nil as you should get unlimited free O2 to O2 calls anyway...
If you go to Tesco Mobile, there's some better deals - for example, Galaxy S3 mini, 500 minutes, unlimited texts, and 500Mb data, for £12.50 per month. Tesco runs on the O2 network too!
Giff Gaff have some pretty good deals too.
Hope this helps!0 -

It can work if you are extremely cautious, but certainly it's not OK.
£5x24 looks about right for the phone, but for £7.50 you can get 150+150+500Mb with Likamobile (the same O2 signal) or, as you rightly said, 200+Unltd+250Mb (3g) with Giffgaff.
It's worth saying that this is a duplicate thread, possibly posted on some other board and moved later to this one. The 'main' thread on the first page of this board:
