    It's still happening: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5163211

I've given up on search and now have a tab permanently open on advanced search.

Someone from MSE asked a few days ago 'is it still happening?'
YES it definitely is - my results from 6 searches yesterday were:
    5 wait 15 secs
    1 worked first time

Still happening, yesterday and today. 3 times in succession so far this morning .
    Load page, press search, WAIT

And again today. I took above advice and only used advanced search mostly.
    First time I didn't - WAIT

I've had a normal day's use today without once getting the wait 15 seconds problem.

I did get one false "no results found" and it did let me search again in less than 15 seconds.

ie. This is what used to happen until November 2014.

I've had quite a few problems, false negatives, 15 second and 16 second problems. More problems than first time successes.
  • I cannot get the search facility to work at all in Chrome its very frustrating having to go into Firefox everytime I need to do a search. All I get is the error message
This forum requires that you wait 15 seconds between searches. Please try again in 12 seconds.

It's still happening, and today I also had a failure when I was not logged in to MSE.

    Ditto, IT'S STILL HAPPENING!!

The last comment from MSE on this thread was 19 Jan. Could we have some sort of update - is anything being done about this very annoying feature? Or is it something we just need to learn to live with?

Just in case it helps anyone working on the problem, it has changed slightly - as mentioned in #47, it seems to have evolved from having to wait 15 or 16 seconds to 12 seconds.
  • Hi everyone,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Our tech team tells us it's to stop an overload of searches and it happens when you're on an IP address with other people, so in an office or using your phone. The delay happens when users on the same IP search at the same time.

Hope that helps to clear things up. We'll take this feedback on board :)

I'm only ever on my home desktop PC, usually with no-one else in the house and I am getting the problem all the time.
