    Debt-free and Proud!
I'm signed up to a couple of these cash for surveys but I never seem to get accepted for any or the quota is already full. I'm also signed up to a few points for vouchers survey sites and I usually use the vouchers as or for presents. They pay out in Argos, Next, Debenhams, Boots, and the similar vouchers so are ideal.

I'm not one of those who makes a fortune out of these surveys though :(

I have signed up for a few sites. One is alright and I save up for M&S vouchers for Christmas to buy some food treats. Helps with the food bill.

Hope everyone is doing OK and winning the good fight for frugality.

JustStartingOut, I agree with what others have said about getting finances in order before the wedding, I would also sit down and discuss how much potential debt may be carried into the marriage. With the benefit of many years of other people's budgets, I have seen it so often trip up the early year finances. Things like catalogues are probably best cleared completely before tackling cash savings, then you know that spare cash really is yours to invest in your future together. I agree with separate accounts for personal spending and a joint one for joint household bills, the bills one being allocatded whatever your household budget is. In most cases, the men expect or prefer their partners to deal with household stuff, then his savings will reflect his commitment to the long term. Likewise with your own. Just my thoughts on the matter. :)

Blogs - I listed quite a few of the other frugalers' blogs down right hand side of mine and also have a list of other challengers' blogs in the frugal forums, if that helps.

    morning all,

what a morning weatherwise, really blowing a gale, and heavy rain..

been pretty good with spending and trying to find the best deal when I have had to spend etc.. have had the odd hic up and bought a takeaway, but sometimes its just got to be done..lol.. but compared to a while ago, just having one takeaway is brilliant...

hopeing its going to be a nice weekend, next week, so I can carry on sowing my veggie seeds..

Hello! I'm not sure if any of you remember me from last year's thread. I haven't posted on MSE for about 4 months now! I got a new job back then and was suddenly very busy with that, and now (...with a massive thanks to this website and those who use it!) I'm now a home owner for the first time! So I've had a very busy few months.

But now my life and money situation has completely changed it's time to get back on here and on the frugal wagon once again :) would you mind if I joined you on here again?

:T Congratulations on becoming a homeowner, and welcome back to the thread. I only joined for the first time this year as I was going to be giving birth to my third child (who is now coming up to ten weeks), so money is absolutely an issue for our family. I have to say everyone on here is so encouraging, supportive and welcoming. I can't contribute all that often because I don't get time, but I love dipping in and out.

Welcome back, alja, and welcome to the world of home ownership, a huge adventure for you! Congratulations! :)

Wombatchops, I hope you and family all doing well. I can hardly believe we are about to go into the second quarter of 2015, time just flies!

Having, once again blown all the savings, I find myself back at the start of the cycle of frugal life. No debts, but no safety net either. I am, however, really looking forward to keeping on forging ahead with the Frugaldom Project.

Keep on frugaling! :) It definitely is the pennies that make the pounds.
