Ebuyer: missed delivery twice, no compensation offered

I ordered a large TV from ebuyer to be delivered on a Monday before 1pm. Waited until 9pm, but nothing arrived, and the TV was actually only despatched on the Monday evening. I asked for a redelivery on the following Saturday. It was ignored and delivered to some random neighbour, who was then away for several days.

TV was faulty, so they organised a collection on a specific day (from 7am to 9pm). Waited the entire day but nobody turned up to collect, and no communication was received from ebuyer (they knew many collections were being cancelled by the courier).

I basically lost two days stuck at home from 7am to 9pm, and they refuse to pay ANY compensation for the wasted time. Should I raise a small claim for compensation?

Obviously, after having been a customer for 10 years, it's the last time I order a large and expensive item from them, as they even lie on when the item is actually despatched.

Any actual testimonies of people who have managed to claim compensation that way, against ebuyer or other e-tailers? How much did they ask for?

Did you read the article linked to in post #2?

It explains that you can claim for actual losses. Your losses may well be different to those of others.

Also at the bottom of that article is a link to a discussion thread, currently running at 443 posts, where readers are invited to post their experiences.
I am sure you will find your answers in there.

Did you actually suffer financial loss? Were the days you had to take off work paid or unpaid?

What's the difference anyway: a day off work is a day off work. It has the exact same value to me.

So you're not financially worse off then.

Because it's a consequetional loss. You have not lost out financially but you may have been indirectly inconvenienced in the future by not being able to take the holiday on another date. You're relying on the 'goodwill' of the company to pay you anything for the consequetional loss. Either that or you take your chances trying to making a claim through small claims court.

Having contacted their escalation team several times, they refused to provide any compensation, so I have raised a money claim online. We will see, but this is appalling customer service and behaviour from Ebuyer.

That may well be so, but as far as I know "appalling customer service and behaviour" is not something you can claim against in the small claims court, or any other court.

Sebtomato, you seem to have overlooked this question:

I can raise a small claim for the inconvenience caused and time wasted to handle this. I got stuck home from 7am to 9pm for two days, while they knew it was pointless and provided no communication. This is unlikely to go to court anyway, and I suspect they will settle the small amount asked for.
