She was never offered any written confirmation, she has it all written down as she spoke to the guy on the phone, her PAC code, lasts 30days, etc but no she never got his name, mistake on her part I know, but something I guess she never thought she would need, if they had done their job properly in the first place .....

She cancelled over the phone only? Then asked for a PAC?

    Confused a bit now.

Obtaining a PAC doesn't cancel the contract.

    Well what can I say...

Finally she spoke to a wonderful lady by the name of Heather in the collections dept, she understand everything and in less than 5 mins had cancelled all money owing and she will receive a letter in the post stating that the contract etc etc is finished and no monies owed!

So easy, why couldn't it have been done before I don't know, so a happy ending:D

Thanks for all your help everyone,

    Merry Christmas

    In a shop apparently.

Indeed, it's a mystery why she decided to get a PAC over a phone later.

At least it seems to be sorted to the OP's satisfaction.
  • Wait and see. Orange gave me written assurances about something and a year later I discovered they hadn't done it and then took them to CISAS (not OFCOM).

I'd check her credit files to ensure they haven't left any adverse marks a while after it's supposedly resolved - and DON'T take their word for that.

Although it is sorted, I would like to point out the text that is sent when confirming PAC is sent automatically through the system and does confirm if not used, the number remains active.

In addition, a letter used to be sent automatically too when I worked there. I am not aware this has changed.
