Sony Xperia Z3 cracked back

Might have a word with local trading standards about an independent inspection.
OP sorry to sound harsh but I think you're going in all guns blazing without a clue what you are doing and you'll quickly find yourself up a particular creek without a paddle and possibly out of pocket as well.
I know you state with absolute fact that you have not damaged the phone, but the way you have described these cracks (2-3 originating from one single point) suggests to me excessive pressure or localised impact on the screen.
Faulty glass tends to have a single hairline crack around the weakness/fault. What you are describing does not sound like a fault in the glass, it sounds like user damage (like it or not).
In all honesty, just pay for the repair and move on.
On the flip side, I've had an Xperia Z1 for about 2 years - it has been dropped (accidentally) onto hard flooring, tarmac, kerbs and driveways probably more times than I've actually answered calls on it and it's still going strong to this day.0 -
This is best photo I can get of the cracked screen. Only just got phone back off Sony. They told me they'd recycled it
but after about a week they found it again

Looks like impact damage to me .0

Yes I know but the thing is it isn't. The phone was in my trouser pocket. It had been working. It rang. I took it out. Cracked screen.
Nothing hit it. Nothing else in my pocket just the phone.
So if that causes this then the phone is not fit for purpose.
But anyway I wont bother with the court action. I'm not paying the Sony repair price of £140. Looking for another repairer. Any suggestions ?0 -
The screen and back of my Z3 Compact is fine after 18 months...but then I haven't impacted the glass on anything; it wouldn't be Sony's fault if I had.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

I replaced the back glass on my wife's Z3 compact 3 times, twice it was dropped and the other time it i took it to work and bashed my leg on something. It was a about a £10 for a rear panel and took 10 minutes and a hair dryer to change. I've recently bent my z2 by letting it lay across my pocket rather than straight down and then doing something at work that put to muck pressure on it and it bent along the SIM card port, now the back glass keeps popping off, don't think I'll risk it in the bath.0

There you go Scots - £10 odd from a local repair shop - I don't think it's worth fighting over for the back panel.0
