Virgin Media Are driving me crazy.

Can anyone help, I joined NTL some time ago and I was happy with them I got my Broadban I also got my phone and TV from them, but then they became Virgin Media and I was messed around a bit, then Sky pulled out and I lost channels. So I contacted them and said enough I would like to leave, I also put it in writing. I was contacted by them and told we "we are willing to upgrade your service" but that is not what I want I told them.
Anyway to cut a long on going story short, I have writtent to them over and over, but to no avail they just wont let me leave. And they are refusing to close my account and turn the tv service off. This has been driving me mad for ages now, they are not being fair at all, Today I asked for my migration code and was told "Oh sorry We can not give you that while you account is active" But I have asked over and over since they went to Virgin Media to turn my service off, I get no replies to my letters Emails or phone and when I call them all I get is the run around or "someone will ring you today (like yeh)"
I dont know what to do now, as the wont give at all. I would like to go to BT for my internet, but Virgine are not going to make it easy for me.

Try asking here:

it's an unofficial help site which has official links to/ contacts within VM so that they can escalate issues for resolution.0 -
They cannot refuse to give you a migration code. This is against the law. Threaten them with legal action and report them to OFT and Trading Standards.. the same thing happened to my friend and surprise surprise they received a resolution in daysTotal Reclaimed from banks and credit cards so far: £14139 :T
Amount outstanding £550 :beer:0 -
oh and move to SkyTotal Reclaimed from banks and credit cards so far: £14139 :T
Amount outstanding £550 :beer:0 -
you do not nead a migration code has you are not using adsl (bt line),your using cable and i think there was a time limit to cancel the contract for losing the sky stuffthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0

The date set for cancelling due to loss of Sky channels has gone by a long way (think it was a month or so after the announcement) and as above if it is an NTL installed line then you don't need or get a MAC code as far as I know.
Try the NTHW site, they have a lot of helpful VM staff that post there and are in a position to escalate it through the correct channels (especially if someone PMs a team member and points it out to them)

Cancel your direct debit. Of course you are breaking the contract and are liable and ultimately you will have to be prepared to argue your case in the small claims court. However if you hold out and ignore the threatening letters, it is very unlikely it will get that far!"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I had to do that with pipex...they acquiesced to my demands eventually...after trying to take £200 out of my account for 6 months!Total Reclaimed from banks and credit cards so far: £14139 :T
Amount outstanding £550 :beer:0 -
Pipex is a different kettle of fish, same completely hopeless CS though lol0

If you start cancelling direct debits without agreeing it with the supplier, it could affect your credit rating, and result in bailiffs at the door.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
