Quidco - is it really worth it ??

Guys - I have read lots of snippets throughout this forum about quidco, but very little dedicated to quidco itself. What I'm really after is information on people's experiences, e.g. is it reliable, secure, it it worth it if you don't buy much stuff, that kind of thing. I'm contemplating signing up for their service, but want to know if it's really worth the bother???

    Hi Gun Jack

I would say it's worth it as there's no cost unless you actually make money. I don't buy much online but have made nearly £60 this year from buying stuff I would have bought anyway.

You don't MAKE money, you get back some of the money you spend.

Its definately worth it, some of the cashback on finacial products like Home Insurance, Car Insurance, Mobile phone contracts are very good.

If you have willpower there are some very good cashbacks for gambling sites, for example wager £10 with coral and you get £30 back plus coaral give you another £10 to bet, nice.

Yep -I've made over £130 this year - all for stuff I would have bought anyway.* Got an amazing deal on car insurance where not only did I get the cheapest quote (as per moneysupermarket) I also got £50 cashback from the company (post office) and £27 back from quidco!

*Exception has been for Gala bingo. You sign up and lodge £10 and get £30 cashback. Wouldn't have joined up, might never use the £10 but got £20 back.

i've used it to get £115 cash back on the pru health / virgin active gym membership, so i take that as an instant saving i wouldn't have got anywhere else.

Best of all i insured my contents through Lloyds for £120 cashback - when the policy was ony £110 so my contents insurance is -£10 a year!!

    Seems worth it to me!!

Its all down to whether you can be bothered to do it - you have to wait a while for the cashback so theres no point doing it if you are after an instant discount.
I never missed a payment :T , I paid off all my credit cards :T , I paid of all my loans :T , i have a work mobile :T - but am now "medium" credit risk

I've used it and got £103 back this year - this practically paid the house insurance I took out through them which was also half the price of my existing insurance. The money came through no problem a couple of months later.
    I'd recommend them to anyone.

We've had £319 back in the last year from them. We did our car insurance, opened a bank account, bought a laptop that died, bought another, some daily clicks, bought xmas pressies from sites offering cash back, although the sale price was more expensive than I could get elsewhere the cashback more than made up for it......

Had one problem with a sale that didn't track but it was sorted within 2 months.

I can't see why people wouldn't use it to be honest - if it's money you've got to spend, then why not get something back.

You CAN make money from Quidco, I've been through the site with a fine-toothed comb and for an outlay of less than £20 I've netted a cool £250 this year.

Some of it was through switching utilities/home insurance, and the rest is from clickthroughs, signing up to trials/subscriptions (which I've then cancelled prior to any charge to me), opening a new bank account etc... Not many things which have actually cost me money.

Over the next couple of weeks I'm hitting a lot of the merchants again but via my boyfriend's email address.

I DEFINITELY say it's worth the effort!!

I've removed my payment details from the site so any earnings are held there until such time as I want to withdraw them. I'm treating it as a little savings account for a new car :)
