Stiltoncheese good luck! You could buy a nice bar break it into squares and freeze it, then everytime you get a chocolate craving pop a piece straight from the freezer and enjoy, lasts ages and makes the bar last longer too!!
Need to edit my sig, just bought a cheap £2.19 bottle of wine from local shop!!!Humm i wonder if i could freeze wine into ice cubes for same effect as chocolate!!!!!!!!!LOLProud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Have fallon off the wagon big style!!
Having visitors and it being school hols.
But as i have only 8 days until my next month starts, I have a plan!!!
I am going to allocate £50 a week for supermarket shopping, which i will draw out of BS- keeping it in my offset account until then. I will have a seperate cash purse for food and will leave all cards at home- so no chance of over spend! Any trips to local shop for milk or wine! will have to come out of that too.
We are 2 adults and 2 children.
Going to meal plan and make 1 meal for all too- wish me luck!
School holidays are always going to be different from when the kids are not around so I don't think you should beat yourself up over it. You are tackling it in the right way. Having cash and not a card in your hand makes it much easier to resist the 'extras' which aren't on your list. I am sure that with this approach you will get your spending under control. Good luck!0 -
Hi everyone
Went to Aldi's today for a top up shop - had got mince out of freezer to make chilli then realised peppers & onions were mouldy this morning!! Ooops:o
Therefore tonight spent £4.34 on bag of onions, 3 peppers, bananas (for breakfasts), 6 eggs and bag of sugar so not bad:D
Quite pleased with myself aswell tonight cos when I got in I made banana & walnut tea bread (with old bananas that were extremely over ripe & few walnuts I had left in cupboard) and a big pot of chilli. Have eaten a big portion of chilli tonight and got another 5 portions to freeze:j
Therefore, still well under budget.
Stilton cheese I hope you enjoy your chocolate - you'll deserve it by the end of the month;)Official DFW Nerd - Member 408 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -

DLB I didn't know you could freeze chocolate, will deffo give that a go in future (will stop me from being so greedy as well!).Debt free since May 20150 -
I now have €88.48 to last me until end of month....feel that I have shopped in a very haphazard way this month, so am going to make myself last until 31st on my €340...not been organised about shopping or meal planning, haven't been making bread, I have lots of flour so no more shop bought bread ...with just €4.91 per day to spend I will have to be vigilant and I think that from now on I am going to use calender months for my challenge period, will have to organise myself in all areas as not sure what I've got in any money area..or what I've spent.
Good luck to all who are finding the budgetting tight...it can be done I know
