We stayed at the Cow Hollow Motor Inn on Lombard Street. They have an underground garage and the rate includes parking. There were quite a few places on Lombard street which is pretty good for buses and you can walk to Fisherman's Wharf from there. I can recommend the Alcatraz Night Tour - slightly more expensive, but very atmospheric and much quieter as they restrict the numbers.

I have just booked Cow Hollow....thank you Crispy :T

Just back from our trip and sent 2 nights at the CHMI, and it was great, thanks Crispy....

Room was in par with a 4 star hotel, the building just lacked the facilities of a hotel (hence the name "motor inn", and the price).

There were loads of decent bars and restaurants near by, and it was great value. Will definitely use it again.
