Home from my London race/run. Weather wasn't too great - light drizzle all morning which was a pain. But a really friendly atmosphere among the runners and event staff, some great running outfits the guy who was running 0070 was in a tuxedo running top and black shorts, and I saw a ninja at one point.

I am very chuffed to have run it in 8mins 12 seconds - I think the very flat course helped, I knew I'd set off faster than normal but even when I was trying to force myself to slow down I found myself deciding to just get around the next person ahead of me first. Skipped the free prosecco though as I went for lunch with my sister.

Just had the credit confirmation from the foresty survey company so logged in and redeemed £8 paypal.

Also hit the threshold on valued opinions so redeemed a £15 amazon voucher - already applied to my account.

And finally hit the threshold to redeem for £30 paypal from GTM.

Spent today doing some housework, got all my washing done, and vaccumed down stairs, need to clean the oven and microwave at some point soon as well as descaling the kettle - rock n roll......

Also moved money from my savings accounts in to the current account so I can pay the deposit on the car next week - just need to write the rota so I have the time off to collect it and work out how to get to the garage from work without taking the old car (not trading it in, will get it cleaned up and for sale once I pick up the new one).

I keep re-reading the specs and finding things I didn't know it did. I'm never going to be able to work it all out once I get it - lots of weeks of pushing buttons then throwing a strop because my car is telling me off in my future I suspect!

In the meantime I've got the rota written and a colleague has offered to drop me off at the garage on her way home from work - just need to go buy a box to keep my wetsuit in as I'm planning to swim Tuesday night and I don't want my nice new car to be full of lake water and smelly wetsuit.

I've got Monday off so planning to get the KA cleaned up and photographed if the weather is good. As well as get insurance quotes (get 7 days drive away insurance from the dealer) for the new car and make sure I cancel the insurance on the KA - unlikely to get a refund of the month left because of the payout from the Fiesta. I then also need to sort out a VED refund - handily it running monthly means that it'll run until the end of June by which time I plan to have it sold.

Failed to get insurance quotes. Did however find a stacker box under my bed which I've repurposed from storing bedding to being the new home for my wetsuit in the car.

Love the car. Not so much loving the number of buttons and electric doodahs built in, I swear I pressed what I thought was the satnav button earlier and it tried to phone home.

    Flying visit.
Incredibly busy at work this last few weeks, and trying to train on top and I just havent had time to properly post!

Just booked my bike hire for the triathlon though so at least the training is almost over (2 weeks to my event).

Less than a week to my triathlon.

    Not worried.

More utterly terrified at this point!

Did the first of my timed open water swims on Friday night, was so much fun, although it was a timed event it was so relaxed and enjoyable, it was a night swim so didn't start until almost 10pm, the first wave doing the longer route set off at about 9.45, my wave was a little after that. All the swimmers were wearing a variety of glow jewellery wherever we could make them stay put and the route bouys were marked with glowsticks and flasing LED's. They've already announced the date for next years so hopefully I'll be attending it again.

Of course having done that I'm now thinking about a last minute entry in to the London swim of the Great Swim series, its the weekend after my tri and am not sure if work is busy or not, so going to check when I'm in tomorrow, if we've nothing booked am going to book a place on one of the mile waves ideally a mid afternoon one to give me plenty of time to get there.

In the meantime I've just spent £40 in sweatshop on sunglasses as I found my sports ones and realised I've managed to break them in about the only place not fixable (over the bridge of the nose), so new sunnies and a pair of elasticated shoe laces for my running shoes, would have bought them online but the cost of the train ticket was less than the delivery charge and I walked to the train station which counts as my exersize for the day (just under 6 miles round trip).
Moneywise I've recieved a perk £10, and £30 from gtm in to paypal and a cheque for the refund of my old car tax - although I still own the car itself.
