Im being sued after I sold my car

£200 - £400, you settled at £350?
Brilliant negotiation!0 -
Yes I know its still wrong and he hasnt actually gained anything either now because he had to pay the court fees and pay for this mediator aswell so he has actually ended up with nothing aswell. But from my point of view paying £350 just means I got less for the car than I would of hoped and now I dont have to go to court. I will lose a days work just to go to court let alone all the time to find out what to do about a court case. Im sorry if you feel like I let you down and I really do appreciate all the good advice but for me at least now it is over with as much as I would have liked to see a judge kick his backside.0

I suppose you can get on with your life now and stop worrying, that's the main thing0

I dont think you were helped by the absolute and utter IDIOTS that came on the thread dishing out punishments for crimes in other types of courts.
I would like to see these idiots banned from the forum.
They have just cost you £350 you did not have to pay.
This would have been a civil court, two people and a judge in normal clothes sat at a table.
You had an absolute defence in Caveat Emptor.
You are now £350 out of pocket and you have let this man completely walk all over you and take money from you he was not due and had no legal chance of obtaining.
He may come back for even more now he knows you are an easy target that just wants things over and done.
The only person you have let down is yourself here.
You had him beat and beat good all you had to do was hold your nerve.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

This is like those who gladly cough-up for private parking firms and the like.....0 -
You should have fought it op and asked the judge to award you a days pay.
However, it's easy for us to say this, with it not happening to us, so even if we don't agree we can surely understand why op would want to settle, so calm down guys.0 -

Also interesting to see how eager he was to see the OP heading into court with all the extra time, stress and - potentially - a judgement against her that would have involved.
With all due respect to him, anyone who ever claims that something is a slam-dunk / guaranteed in court is very foolish indeed no matter how knowledgeable they claim to be0 -

Exactly, maybe £350 was worth it for the OP.0 -
