I would have paid good money to see a video of you trying to repair the bodywork on the Sierra using only your watchmaking tools!0 -

Well, jeweller's rouge is similar to T-Cut. Buffing out would take a long time, though. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

To be fair, I did use my big clock hammer (the 2 ounce one) on the bigger dents0 -
I guess i am as guilty as anyone on this thread in confusing wether it`s LIKELY a prosecution would occur over if it was possible

Poor woman came here for advice defending rather a silly CCJ claim.
She got the life scared out of her by people spouting random criminal acts.
What relevance these had to her question I am baffled.
Totally baffled.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
OP
Forget all the academic ideas about a criminal prosecution, it won't happen.
Send your defence to the court as has been said. The judge will consider both sides and could even make a judgement without needing to have the parties appear in court.
What is certain the criminality of selling an unroadworthy car will not figure in his deliberations, he is looking at a civil dispute only.
Also for your peace of mind investigation of selling an unroadworthy car normally ( unless there has been other criminal action) falls to local trading standards ,their work load has increased and their staffing decreased, they have to prioritise their work.A complaint by 1 individual will not trigger off an investigation.
Addionally your local trading standards office may have a policy on the matter, Wigan council for example on their website state clearly,"It is our policy not to prosecute an individual involved in the selling of an unroadworthy vehicle."0 -

As I've mentioned a number of times, you'll find the OP is the one who first mentioned it potentially being a criminal offence in post #6.What will your verse be?

I appreciate you all looking at all the angles it has been helpful thanks.
I lodged the defence today. Luckily because I only had a few days left to go. Thanks Marktheshark for writing it up for me I could never have done anything like that myself. I also got a lot of help from friends and family to understand what these things mean and what you are saying and I have a fairly decent grasp on what is going on now. I will cross my fingers now and let you know what happens after this. Cheers0 -
Thanks for the update, Loopy, and good luck with the outcome. Please do remember to update us as it progresses - it's horrible never hearing the end of the story and your experience may well help someone else one day0
