Like a birth certificate ............... Nothing in those terms to say a photo ID is required. I can think of several forms of ID that show someone is over 18 (although unless the OP is picking up booze or knives the ID of the person not their age should be the focus- but whoever writes this stuff doesn't appear to have a grip on the nuances of what they are trying to communicate.)

A birth certificate would show the person named on it is over 18. Not necessarily the person in possession of it.

As I said previously, a birth certificate on its own is not usually accepted as a form of ID - because anyone can get a copy of it and they're easily faked.

I seen it, but not really sure something sent after the contract is entered into is really of any use to the customers.

It does state in the T&C at the time of ordering to bring a valid form of ID - although as powerful rogue says....if I was limited in what ID I could provide....I'd contact them first to check this - but then we all know most people dont read T&C's.

I do - but i'm fully aware of what can be hidden in them. Most people just don't even think about it!

  • I doubt if they will be accepting Paypal for long anyway. It won't be long before the scammers realise they can get a refund from Paypal because ASDA can't show online proof of delivery to the registered Paypal address.

Dont think they could be more accurate "a valid form of ID which proves you are over 18."

You don't think they could be more accurate? You really don't think adding the word 'photo' in their might make it more accurate?

A credit card statement is proof of being 18.

Just like the birth certificate, a credit card statement is proof that the person named on it is over 18, not the person in possession of it.

    And your point is what?

A passport is proof that the person holding it may bear a passing resemblance to the photo inside it.
