Certainly clear enough there that you DO need photo ID when purchasing with PayPal which will be a nuisance if you don't have such a thing.0 -
I had this problem only in asda. I luckily had a photocopy of my drivers license. The manager wanted to see the card I made the order with. I said it was Paypal and he was not satisfied. After a long discussion he gave it to me. Any other store would just require the order id or the confirmation email or text. It is not clear when ordering, only when you get the confirmation email you see what you need to take.SPC 08 - #452 - £415

What is the link to the version of the T&Cs that you claim didn't mention photo id?0

6.3 For orders that are delivered using the click and collect option we will provide an Estimated Collection Date at the point of order. When your order is ready for collection from the store we will email and/or text you to confirm providing you have supplied these contact details when ordering. When collecting your order from store please take along your order confirmation email and the payment card you used to place the order, if you paid using PayPal or eVouchers only, a valid form of ID which proves you are over 18. Please ensure the name on your ID matches the name provided when ordering.

A birth certificate proves you are over 18 -it isn't photo ID.
Your argument doesn't make sense ..... whether it is over or under ID makes no difference -all over18 ID doesn't have a photo
However in my experience, a birth certificate is not proof of ID on its own. Usually they require several other documents also - such as NI card, bank statement or utility bill dated within the last x months.
Certainly I wouldnt accept a birth certificate as verification of that persons identity - anyone can get a copy. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Hello fluffycabbage - nice name,
Ignoring the rights and wrongs of what Asda are doing, you are going to find life difficult without any photo ID, so you should really get something. You can argue till you're blue in the face (do cabbages have faces?) that your civil liberties are being run roughshod over, but in the end it's you who will suffer. If you don't have a passport and don't want one, or a driving licence, you could look here

I have no idea if Adsa or others will take these cards though.0 -

Have you read the OPs post? They say that the T&Cs they agreed to when placing the order do not mention a photo ID (and say how you can find that set).
OP then goes on to link to another set of terms, elsewhere on the Asda site, which are not the ones they agreed to. You've just linked to this same second set of T&Cs the OP has already linked to.
Ironic that you seem to be suggesting OP hasn't read the T&Cs properly, when in fact you haven't read their post properly.
If this link works without being logged in, this is what they agreed to:

I'd suggest taking a birth certificate or a credit card, possibly along with a proof of address. I think two forms of ID together, one proving you are over 18, should be sufficient for them
Or go back and try when there's another member of staff who may be more lenient.0 -

I am not sure who your comments are/were directed at but I was commenting merely on the T&Cs that were posted by others.
I haven't posted any links.
It seems though that ASDA do have two sets of, conflicting, pages of T&Cs.
I rarely carry photo ID so had I ordered and gone to collect, as the OP did, then I would have encountered the same problem.0 -

I did indeed read the OP's post. In the T&C's she agreed to it said a "Valid form of ID to show your over 18". That to me would equal photo ID, unless you can think of anywhere that would accept anything different to prove your over 18.0
