Well it's all about not spending, spending well and being happy....I think.
Anyway I went out with friends today, very much against the grain because I didn't want to spend! I ended up spending £8.15 on a meal with them and £4 on parking because I didn't drive.....sigh
    So that's £12.15 off my budget :(
But I did have a lovely day :(
£250 shopping, diesel and any other spends
    December 16- January 15 £345.06/250.00 -£95.06
    £2 saving a day for christmas 2017 £0/£730
Total debt paid off before 26 December 2017 £3142.31/14,053.85 = £10911.54 left to go
  • Anybody else struggling to stick to their targets already?

Only half way through the week & have dipped into my weekly budget quite a bit...Today I picked up nappies, mouthwash, milk, bread & a few other bits & am now £16.07 lighter, not good when I only have a budget of £45 this week & am yet to do my main shop on saturday (Need to get washing powder too)

Worried that I am going to fail my first ever challenge...

We don't "fail", we just misjudge what we can do.
Was your £45 pure guesswork, or have you previously kept track of your spends closely?
Are all the spends likely to be weekly? Or can you spread the cost of some items (such as washing powder) over several weeks?

    Hi all,

Spent £16.55 in L!dls today, flippin £9 of which was on Man-flu equipement as DH is now poorly.....

Used up some Kievs from freezer which I bought HP on Lid,s weekend deals, with chips and beans.

We,re getting a new kitchen in Feb (saved for and paid up front) DH is fitting it, so need to use up alot of our food stash.
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
  • Thanks so much to everyone for their kind thoughts, it really does make me feel better to know there are so many caring people out there!

Scan went ok, will get the results next week when I go in for the next dose of chemo.

Went to the restaurant supply shop and spent $99, but most of the specials were on stuff we didn't need, so was quite a bit cheaper then planned. Spending comes from my bulk buy budget, which accumulates from the difference between planned budget and what I actually spend each month. Amazing how much it can add up to over a few months.

DH has wandered off to work today (he just works one day a week at the business he founded and then sold a couple of years ago. A group of his staff bought it and they like having him there, I think it's like a security blanket, just to reassure them everything is fine. Reminds me of that old TV show "Are you being served? when the old owner comes in and says "you're all doing very well!"), so I plan to spend the day creating some new hats, a skill I am trying to develop.

    Have a great day all
    Cheers
