hi Everyone I would like to join this forum my Target is £100 a month as from the 1st of January 2015 I live alone plus my cat I am starting off with a full fridge freezer a full chest freezer and a full stock cupboard so my plan is to run down my stocks so I don't think my spend will be very much for a few months so lets hope we all have a very Happy New Year
The month is drawing to a close and at this moment my Spend has been £90 I expect to spend another £10 before the end of the month so a really good start my target spend for February £90Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs
Since first using Martins I have saved thousands0 -
£15.44 spend for me today. I still have £22 left for 6 days which doesn't seem much but I have main meals and lunches for every day so all I need will be the basics. Still hoping to come in under budgetDebt free as of 29.10.2020 🎉😁

Start of the month went great, however, I have managed to over budget with still 2 days to go. However, I'm not considering it a failure as I've learned a few things. So looking ahead to next months challenge. Will stay with the same budget, and hopefully with better planning, I'll come in closer to it next month.
Onwards and upwards!

Spent right up to my £150.00 budget. I'm pennies under after a 20 pound spend yesterday. Nsd today so I'm declaring 150 budget and 150 Spend. Still got a bit of a stock so I'm hoping I will be ok next month. Good luck and hope to see you all in the February thread xMarch 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000

Doing so well this month!
I hope I can keep up this pace throughout the year, because I am going to need it.
Today's spend were £2.69 n the market, getting fresh beets and neeps, a big bag of blackening bananas, bread, milk and eggs from Asda £2.88, and £5.56 in Waitrose on the Haggis, some humus and a couple of tins of Scotch Broth!
Forgot to add 30p on a reduce lettuce on Wednesday. Will add that in now.
I may need to get more cheese, cat food and bleach in the week, maybe some tomatoes too. But not much to get before February budget kicks in.
Check out the shopitize app if you have a smart phone, you can claim 50p back for the scotch broth if it is the baxters one!Grocery Challenge 2024

Good afternoon everyone.
Well I had a planned shop to Lidl today and spent £9.17. I had wanted to get the 1/2 price chicken legs for our dinner today, but they were all gone:(. Instead I have bought a medium chicken for £2.74 which wasn't bad, plus a few other bits that I wanted to get, so not too bad in all. Meal plan for the week in place and going to use the Ald* voucher on Thursday.
I get paid on Tuesday, so am very pleased with how I have managed as I have come in under budget. I will certainly be joining in in February, so will have a think of how much to cut my budget down by and will post on there.
Just wanted to say that I usually try to make my own bread, and yesterday I tried the basic white recipe in the index, and OMG it has turned out really, really well:T I am going to make another loaf now as I don't think it will last much longer.
Thank you to everyone who posts and for all the encouragement. I find it very helpful and motivating.:)SPC 11 #4450 -

Yes, it is!
I will have to investigate...
In the meantime, oh noes, I have apparently bought English turnips, and should have bought swede for them to be proper 'neeps'.
Ah well...Keep reading books!

Oops I have gone over my budget for January
With a small spend at Sainsburys (coffee, firelighters) the other day, plus last night's Ocado delivery, I have spent £252.03 on groceries, pet food, toiletries, cleaning products, medicines etc since 27 December. I may end up having to spend a bit more before my challenge end date of the 31 Januarybut hopefully not much!!
So, must do better next month - this challenge has certainly kept me mindful of what I have been spending though0
