Computer desks & cheap ones

Oh dear. Just noticed the assembly pdf with these things.
Well that's a bit bamboozling0 -
Well on the topic of a desk with storage, this one MAY be ideal

Plenty of storage. Only gripes are:
1) 120cm long instead of 140cm/150cm.
2) No holes at the rear of the tower unit for airflow.
3) It doesn't state the full dimensions of the tower unit itself, although i think mine would fit.0 -

And desks along that style.
2. The problem with the desk you linked to (& similar ones) is that they don't give you the dimensions of the tower unit. Some of the ones i've been looking at don't give you the dimensions, but then others do, so i measured against mine & on height & length it's a total no-no.
The Ikea ones like you linked to look nice (& pricey) but there's just no dimensions to go off.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I was in the Forces Support shop in Kidderminster yesterday and they had a superb computer desk for sale for £50. It was like new. You can also get them from British Heart Foundation furniture shops, but they tend to be a bit over priced for what they are."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

More googling last night (plenty of looking at this since it's going to last) & i found something that's apparently called a 'hutch' (i had to edit that as i thought it was called hive lol).

Would be pretty perfect.
Unfortunately had a look on their site & nothing really suitable. So i guess that image would be old stock. Typical.0 -
does the add on for the Hemnes desk not give you enough upper storage in a similar way?
Spotted this the other day....COMPUTER DESK
You could ask a local carpenter to knock you one up to your spec. Won't be cheap, but, might satisfy your wants.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

That's quite good actually. I know i'm being difficult here but i like the monitor positioned off to the side, not smack in front of me & i think that one would be a bit awkward to do that.
But good tip on local carpenter. I never thought of that one. I'll have to give it a try since i know of one.
As for the add on for the Hemnes desk .... yes that would be decent. Problem is i don't like the colours they come in. White, black. Not for me i'm afraid. I like proper wood colour, not painted & i don't want it too dark. Light oak colour, beech, things along those lines.
Again i guess you could call it being difficult. I know what i want, it's just a case of finding it (or having it made as you suggest).0 -
No problem....It's no good having something just because someone else likes it. So, not really being awkward.
I have a beautiful antique oak desk in storage. It was in my study, until I went a bit more minimalist and contemporary. I'll probably go back to it in a couple of years. That said, I do like the clean white office I now have.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Hmm, not quite sure what to do with this one.
I found this desk:
http://www.directofficesupply.co.uk/alphason-dallas-computer-desk-p3039?utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&gclid=COvP-eTC0sICFcrLtAod5z8AjA
If you search "Dallas Computer Desk" There's a load like this that come up at varying prices but they all look the same:
Potential to be ideal i thought. Perhaps not as well built as the IKEA desk but more storage for sure.
Oh i also had a measure up & i've instantly ruled out all desks shorter than 140cm.
So i email this company https://www.officefurnitureonline.co.uk/computer-desks/static-computer-desks/westcliff-computer-desk.html?utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=XMLbase_feed&utm_term=Static+Computer+Desks&utm_campaign=Westcliff_Computer_Desk&gclid=CMiXwa3D0sICFQQTwwodGHAAkQ About the internal measurements of where the PC tower goes since it doesn't provide it.
They got back to me:
W - 280mm
D - 540mm
H - 555mm
In the meantime i had found this photo on google images:
So i got back in touch with them with this information asking what was correct.
They responded saying they pulled their dimensions direct from their suppliers.
Well, the dimensions from the suppliers aren't big enough for me, but the dimensions on that final image would be and it's enough to be a deal breaker.
If the dimensions in the final image are correct then this desk becomes perfect. If the dimensions given to me by email are correct then it's of no use to me.0 -
Might be easier to buy a smaller PC..:DDrinking Rum before 10am makes you
