I love Dobble (a matching card game). Very simple so you can get going quickly, and super fun for adults and kids and great for parties.

When I was younger I used to love playing Cluedo, Othello and Yahtzee.
  • Games that have been / are popular in our house: Carcassonne, Bananagrams, Yahtzee, Mastermind, Rummicub, Perudo, and if you have at least 4 of you Apples to Apples.

My 14 year old twin boys both love monopoly and have been collecting different versions for a few years now, it's the only game they play thats not on the xbox now sadly.

Some of the Lego board games are very good. My son has the Harry Potter one and the Lord of the Rings one.

There's also Warhammer, which you can go and play at the Games Workshops as well...
  • Sorry - I've not got time to read through tonight so I hope they're not all duplicates!
    Risk
Hotel (snazzy version of monopoly with 'real' hotels and 'settings')
    Monopoly
    Othello
    Chess
Uno & solitaire too...although they're not 'board' games.

    Have fun picking!
