I don't think there's too much point trying to time daily market movements - but anything that drops below 5% I usually consider topping up

I picked mostly defensive funds in 2014, which have held up quite well, and only topped up on dips - Woodford's still up about 6%, Sanditon Europe 1%, even my Russia/E.Europe JPM New Europe is only down 7.5% ... Added a fair bit to Asia - First State Asia Pacific Leaders is my best performer, up 26%

Just started a value+momentum strategy which I'm quite positive about - idea is to hold the three or four cheapest regions available with the best 6 and 12 month price momentum, rebalancing monthly - possibly switching to cash if not enough fit the criteria ... Right now it's got me buying China, Turkey, Singapore and Japan (all available via OEICs, which makes it quite a cheap strategy to trial)

Yes, their search for yield did rather come unstuck. I also note they are timing sales and purchases to harvest dividends at the expense of NAV. I'd like to think they have learned their lesson, but who knows for sure?
