It's been a mental week this week. I've ended up with about £800 on the credit card due to paying solicitor fee, mortgage survey fee and a few baby bits (pram, car seat etc)

I've paid most of it back through the savings in my TSB account but still have £205 outstanding. Need my salary and bonus this month to get back to where I was before the mortgage application.

£800 for all that isn't bad! We paid £1100 solicitor fees an £350 for the survey alone!

The total amount for everything is going to be about £2700. Not so bad but still relying on my bonus to pay for it all. Thankfully that's come at the right time

  • Its been a bit of a bum week this week. Paid the last instalment to the solicitor of £510 this week- we finally complete on Monday 16th. Same day i bank transferred the legal fees over, within an hour the washing machine died- another £200+ spent to replace it.

My savings account is now a very unhealthy £0 which i find really scary. I keep telling myself its fine, - "thats what savings are for"- our holiday is paid for, legal fees paid and new washing machine and none of it has gone on credit.

Roll on the end of the month. I start my new job on Monday so hopefully payroll wont mess my pay up and i should be able to put a chunk back into the savings pot

Hi everybody, just spent some time reading through the threads and this is really a lovely supportive spread where people are happy for each others successes. I need to get my act together to try and pay more to enable me to reach my target by the end of the year. Have had loads of expenses since Christmas but still able to make our overpayment on mortgage, if I hadn't set up a DD for this to go out automatically I don't think it would have happened.

  • Hello PabloS
Apologies I've messed all my figures up. I've just spent an evening going over everything again. My target figure should have been £8294 sorry. I've actually paid of £648 which isn't too bad. I have also paid £1200 in tax and £500 to my accountant and £300 for a new gas fire since 1st Jan but I didn't add any of these things onto my totals but I feel as though I'm making headway sorry to mess your figures up I'll try to keep on top of it better from now on. Thanks
