I'm waiting for a response from sofa company to confirm how many payments I have left, feels like they're taking forever! Pretty sure it's this one and next one then done, but will wait to hear from them...!
Still don't know what to do about the car. I m conscious that we really want to get saving for a house deposit so it's a case of weighing up the pros and cons.0 -

Does that seem a lot?
Yes, that's a shocking rate. If that was a high street bank offering you that, it's daylight robbery.
HSBC's personal loan rate at the moment, on amounts from £7k to £15k, is 3.9% apr. I can't remember a time when personal loan interest rates were so low. But if you borrow less than £7k, the rate is quite high, 18.9%.
I think it's because you are borrowing a relatively small amount. Could you afford to borrow a bit more, still over the same time frame? if you borrowed £7k from HSBC over 60 months, for instance, the repayments would be £128 a month, for a total repayment of £7,703.

I cant believe how much everyone has paid in January. What an amazing amount. I can't wait until Januarys figure is revealed.0

Due to be extra frugal this month and my desperate need to get this challenge started I have made a cheeky little payment to one of my debts. Roll on payday on Tuesday then I can really get started :T

Plus if you borrow more than you actually need, send the excess back to the loan as an overpayment as soon as you can

Hey everyone x
It's great to see so many payments being made and seeing everyones debt being reduced.
Its still a week away from pay day for me, roll on next Friday. January has been a very looooong month!!
Ive made £359 from selling so far this month- cant wait to transfer that from paypal to my bank, I've ring fenced it for our Argos card (which is the only debt we pay interest on at the minute) Argos will be paid in full by 1st march

Update on Hubby- We got his test results back, he got the all clear- not cancer or anything sinister. We are back in 8 weeks for a check up to make sure he is healing properly. Huge relief I can tell ya! Phew i can breathe now. I cant fault the NHS for his treatment, very fast and efficient.
Update on Son- hes not doing so great, still on a high dose of steroids and being seen weekly by the doctor, every time they lower the dose he becomes covered in the rash again. Im pretty livid with the immunology department, 8 weeks wait for an emergency referral- if i want to pay privately i can be seen quicker - by the same NHS doctor, in the same NHS clinic. No wonder the waiting lists are so long when NHS docs are doing this kind of work. I did look into paying for the appointment privately through Bupa, Spire or Nuffield private hospitals but they dont offer the testing we need within 100 miles of where we live. I wont pay privately to see the NHS doc and take up a space that someone on the waiting list needs. We will just have to wait our turn and hope for the best, if we have another episode requiring a 999 call and A&E attendance i will not be leaving the hospital until he is treated and tested properly.
Weightloss- I've done really well this last 7 days -some of it may be down to stress however, i saw a nutritionalist last week (he came to do a talk to my teenage boys rugby club regarding their diets) this meeting has completely revolutionised the way i think about food. I've lost 6.5lb in 7 days. Coconut oil is my new best friend as well as eating protein for breakfast
