    Good afternoon all.

lutzi1 was not a happy bunny this morning to be called away from the bosom of her family on the morning of the 27th, only for the bride to turn up seriously late. I couldn't even claim the extra time as we get a flat (and terribly small) fee at the weekends. Bride's mother told us the idiotic daughter - who was travelling over 100 miles for a 12 o'clock wedding though she herself lived within 15 miles of the venue, - was in floods of tears in the car, as was her father, but when they arrived this was manifestly not the case.:mad::mad: Rant over.

OMG - that is so very very true :rotfl:

But I have told him many a time that he is never ever to retire - I might have to resort to ground glass.

I am getting my own back though in my own off beat way. He insists the heater by the door is turned up to 3 on the input side so when he annoys me I turn it back down to one. Then when he starts yelling at me yet again I tell him that at least he has something new to yell at me for :rotfl:

Mostly if someone is horrible to me I cope by using the "killing with kindness" method - being overly and overtly nice to them. I might have to resort to this but its going to take some doing :rotfl:.

I saw this on facebook, was to do with a double decker bus on fire on the A45.

Luckily i've had no need to leave the house today!

When we came back up the 45 from town they were putting cones down making 1 lane towards riverside so still bottle necking, but we went farm foods through kingsthorpe and that way, all for a bloody pizza for dh:rotfl::rotfl:

Has to be worth a letter to Head Office, complaining about this and the attitude of the person you have just spoken to too.

Yes, I was planning on doing that - I'm not ready to let this go yet ! I did i nsist on speaking to the duty Manager - she confirmed what the other person had said ie we couldn't have additional vouchers to make it up to £25 each but, apart from saying it just wasn't possible, she couldn't or would't explain exactly why not. She did say she would investigate further to see if she could identify who had given me the wrong info but also said it still wouldn't get us the extra gift card value as it wasn't 'policy'. Apparently the £125 was only payable if we went through MSE - I can't remember exactly how I did it way back in October and , anyway, my argument is based on the wrong info given by their staff. She has apologised for the wrong info and, by doinging so, she appears to have agreed that I was given the wrong info. She just doesn't agree that she can, or should, do anything about it.

    I haven't finished with her yet !

I always ask for confirmation of what I've been told verbally. Either in an email or a letter. It makes disputes a lot clearer and shorter. I've had to do this last week with Ts direct over a stupid voucher code that won't work. They told me I could have a refund for the value off my next order instead, I know full well when the time comes I'll have to jump through hoops to get my refund so I asked for confirmation to be sent by email. Should make things easier.

I hope you get it sorted

a good price - this is especially useful if you are sending something low value, worth under £20 with no time constraints on a normal weekday.

the last 2 parcels I sent were higher value, had to arrive very quickly with a signature and I had to send at a weekend.
The Saturday afternoon one cost me £3.78 I think, I could track it every step of the way and it arrived Monday noon - worth the extra pound I think not to have to worry about it.
