Have a look for an app 'Should I answer'0 -
I have a problem with my phone. As soon as I make a call or disconnect the call, my internet goes down. However, it resets itself, and internet is working during the call - but as soon as I hang up, it disconnects the internet again. I have no idea why, or who can help me with this.
My filters are working and installed correctly. It was working perfectly with our previous BT phones, and the set-up has not been changed at all.0 -

If you are absolutely certain that the internet drop outs are precisely linked to phone usage, send or take them them back as faulty. It's unlikely that another set would exhibit the same problemThere are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Are you sure the filter is still working correctly? Have you tried swapping?
Have you tried disconnecting all filters and plugging in to the Test socket (behind the faceplate) a corded, normal phone (£5 or less from the likes of Argos) and doing the quiet line test? (17070 option 2 if you're on a BT managed line - i.e. not TT or Sky).
Some types of line fault can cause the issue you describe.0 -
1. No idea, but the helpline is very good, so I would give them a call. the number is in the manual.
2. How is a phone able to block a number if it withheld?, think about it. :-)
I'd be interested in the custom message option, though I have no use for it at present.
One way you could do it looking at the manual, is put all withheld numbers to answer phone and in the answer phone message state to call again and not withhold the number?0 -
Well I have a new job now, so just check the calls when I get home.
I get a call every day at 01:06 but the phone never rings thanks to CG.
I was getting 8 to 10 calls a day and was answering them in case it was an agency with a job offer. At the time I did not have CLI switched on, now I do.
I would just leave a message along the lines of
'Hi, You have reached the answer machine of <your name>
This is because I am either not able to take your call right now or you have withheld your number. Please leave a message and I will get back to you if required.'
Thank you.'
I have mine set to Announce.0 -
Sorry to barge in here, so late on, but is everybody still happy with these?
And has anyone had a problem with them missing the first digit (0) when dialling out? Just read a review suggesting that might be a problem.
The reason I ask is that Amazon have them at a good price at the moment.0 -
I have this set (2 handsets) and haven't noticed any problems. Still no unwanted calls have got through - best investment I've made. (Remember you need caller ID active on your line for it to work).0

I have just installed 3 similar phones (BT8610) one for me and two for neighbours and can report success with all three. There is a slight delay before the phone rings - even with "allowed" calls - as the system checks that they are allowed, so you might have to reset the number of rings before the ansaphone cuts in. You also, on mine at least, have to press a key to wake the phone from screensaver mode but you can turn off the screensaver. I have not had one nuisance call since installation last week and the only unknown number was correctly announced to me and I was able to choose whether to block, answer or send to ansaphone. This does happen when the units go to sleep. You just have to key a key even the 0 key to wake them up and allow full telephone number. Once you know the reason, it is easy.0
