new tyre recommendations
hi, met a friend today and somehow the topic came onto tyres. he had a measuring thing for tyre tread depth and my fronts were quite low at 2.9mm , whilst rears had 5mm. all tyres are OEM contipremiumcontact 2. 185/55/16 83V
AA recommends changing before the tread wears down to 2mm and also fitting new tyres to the rear, so I was thinking of changing within the next month. If I bought tyres off blackcircles, will the fully fitted price include switching my rears to the front and fitting the new tyres to the back??
also, BC quotes ~£70 for falken ziex ze914 and £93 for the same continentals. as I will not be keeping this car past 1.5 years or 2.5years maximum(6,000- 7,000 miles per annum) I am leaning toward the falkens but don't really want to compromise safety??
suggestions please. thanks!!

Pays your money.
Both tyres will be fine, they might charge you a couple of quid to put the backs on the front.
If you are selling the car it might pay to have all four corners the same.
But the Falkens get good reviews:-

if i was keeping the car for a possible two and a half years i would go with the premium brand and stick with the contis
my personal thinking is what price do you put on your safety, and for this reason i always stick with a premium brand and i personally like continental tyres0 -
I find Conti's are a bit soft on the shoulder.0

£78 delivered get a local fitter to put them on. One by me charges £7.50.0

Or swap them round yourself before or after fitting. It's a bit of a faff since you can normally only lift one corner at a time but with the spare or axle stands it shouldn't take that long.0
