We have several iPads in the family and they often show the same 99% and not charging.0

In my local Tesco they had 4 tablets on display. 2 Black 2 White. I decided to look at the battery in settings. One was 99% plugged in but not charging, two were 99% plugged in and charging and the other 97% plugged in and charging. There was also the same number of ipads. All showed 100% on the battery.
Unscientific but for none of the Hudl's to be 100% struck me as odd. It's put me off buying for now. Has anyone got a Hudl 2 that shows the battery to be 100% when plugged in to the charger?
I was reading something this morning, from a reputable independent source, that reported that the battery charging problem on Hudl 2 has supposedly been resolved by a firmware update. Whether this has been applied to existing stocks I don't know but quite possibly not.
Hope that helps.Whatever you do, do it safely.0 -
Fixed the charging problem on my Hurl 2 by buying a new 2 amp charger from a local source.
My view is that the charger supplied with Hudl is not producing the 2 amp charge and would only charge at a lower rate when the Hudl was powered off.
Nice machine now it's working properly.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
The problem is due to the Hudl2 only getting 1amp from its supplied charger. Updates do nothing but the new replacement charger does!

Hi folks bought a Hudl 2 only to find after 6 months that it had the battery issue. It wouldn't retain a charge more than 30%. Spoke to Tesco tech services who booked it in for a repair. Got Hudl back in 1 week only to find same problems exists... Spoke to Tech services who gave me a reference number to obtain a refund. Got my £129 back & went & bought another one for £99. Mainly because the warranty was only valid for a further 6 months.. Now the new Hudl 2 has the same problem; right now it won't even start up or charge & yes I am using the original plug & USB cable. Spoke to Tech services again today they have booked it in for repair & I'm hoping that the problem will be solved but if not I will again get the reference number & get a refund & either simply buy another new Hudl 2
(with a full 12 months warranty) or choose a different tablet. COME ON TESCO SORT IT OUT !!!0
