I personally find the ability to receive signals on the iPhone series has went down since the iPhone 5. I've been with friends on the same network in the same location. They're using a 5 and i'm using a Galaxy S5. I'll have 1 bar of signal and they'll have 0 bars. Prior to the iPhone 5, we'd both be about the same.

iPhone 6 will find and use a signal that is far better than any previous iPhone, those prominent antenna lines seem worthwhile as far as getting a signal goes.

One of the reviews of the iPhone 6 commented that they hadn't seen a phone acquire and keep a weak signal in that way since the old Nokias with external aerials.

    So, the iPhone 6 (and 5) have 4G, whereas the 4 doesn't.
And 4G uses different frequencies to 3G.
    So that is factually correct.

Whether or not it's the reason that a given phone worked better than another in a particular location, however, may be questionable.

Whilst factually correct it has no relevance.

    The iPhone 4 works on 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2100MHz for 2G and 3G.

The iPhone 5 works on 900/1800/2100 for 2G and 3G as well as 1800MHz for limited 4G.

    The iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 work on 900/1800/2100 for 2G and 3G and have 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz for 4G.

Each new generation has more capability, not less.

  • If you have an online account (where you can view your bills, upgrade date, direct debit details etc.) then you can activate your SIM online.

I did this yesterday. I got my iPhone 6+ all set up and noticed it said "NO SERVICE" in the top corner, so after some googling discovered it can be done via your Vodafone login online.

Takes about 10 mins. You'll need the SIM number on the new SIM, they give instructions on how to get this via the phone so no need to remove the SIM.
