Seems like the pregnancy wont work here.
I am curious about something. If he buys insurance for the both of them and becomes ILL and a medical professional advises against travel - would he be allowed to claim the FULL amount back (both tickets) or his ticket only?
Thanks,0 -

OH & I cancelled a holiday because I was hospitalised. I would imagine so, depending on the excess on the policy, but you're also risking committing insurance fraud.0 -

I think you're underestimating what it takes to become not fit to fly, open heart surgery will for example make you not fit to fly for 10 days, a bout of flu or stubbing your toe is unlikely to qualify nor is having a limb or two amputated

In which case, any possible refund would be negligible compared to the cost of raising a child to adulthood. I think they've got bigger things to think about. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

I don't remember if it's you whose made that argument before as well, but it seems just as bizarre.
While the OP's search for a way to get a refund is completely futile, I'd hardly say "children are expensive, so losing a hundred quid (or whatever the flight cost) is negligible" is a particularly useful life philosophy! If you said that to a mum who had just lost her purse containing £100 I'm not sure she'd be too receptive!0
