I wrote to my bank around 10 months ago with the charges they owed me then but received a letter to say that it all on hold. I have since received a lot of more charges each month will I have to send a new claim to them or will they be included. I am overdrawn and have a lot of debt will I be given a priorty to be sorted quickly as they will be able to see that I am in finacial need by looking at my account?0

I used the normal template letter which had a section for claiming financial hardship. The bank replied that they wont be easying my financial hardship by dealing with my claim and are treating the two as seperate issues. I thought they had to deal with my case if I'm suffering financial hardship? What do I do now?0

Just a quick question here.
As we are rapidly approaching the 1 year anniversary of the suspension of claims. I sat and wondered to myself...
"I put my claim in before the suspension and that claim also had the added interest on top. Now, another year has gone by.. Will the bank automatically recalculate the interest accrued over the last year and add it to the original amount I submitted, or will I have to re-calculate the interest and then send them an amended invoice?"
Also, will I have to send in a separate claim once things are going again for any charges which have occurred since the suspensions or will the banks take those into account as well?I Reject your reality and substitute my own.

My son has put a claim in from the National Westminster Bank well over a year ago, recorded delivery, using the letter you had on your site, listing all the charges owing. However he has never received as much as an acknowledgement of the letter. Then the court cases started and we did not know what to do now. Any advice would be welcome
I am in a similar situation to this. I sent the template letter (Sample Letter Templates: With claiming interest) on 25th May with the request of a response within 14 days. Unless the letter arrives today or tomorrow (which it may well do) the 14 day period will have come and gone and I don't really know what to do about following that rather bold request up.
What do I do if the bank just ignore my letter? (They definitely received it because I gave it to a teller when I was paying in some moulah).
Oh, the joys!0 -
Any news on the test case recently?0

about these bank charges. A solicitors have wrote to us saying they can help us with getting our bank charges back but by the time they have done this they could charge anything upto £5000. is there any way we can claim these charges back without going through the solicitors as we are financially struggling and the charges we are due back don't add up to the amount the solicitors are wanting which would make us more out of pocket?0

I have recently filed an application to reclaim my bank charges. The bank however, informs me that they do not think the charges were unfair. What should I do next? Should I write to the Financial Ombudsman, or go through the banks' own complaints department as they recommended? I'm sure by doing the latter, the bank would rule in it's own favour anyway. HELP!!0

Hi, I wonder if someone could help me please ... I am in the process of claiming back bank charges on behalf of my Mum who is having financial difficulty at the moment, and was wondering if Working Tax Credit (which she is on) is considered as an 'Income Based Benefit' that Martin mentions in the template letter to send to the bank to get them to hurry up with the claim??
Thanks guys...0 -
I am helping my dad claim back some unfair credit card and bank charges. He ran a small business and had a business account - is it still feasible to claim back on behalf of a sole trader?0
