    That's the one.
I'm now thinking my best bet might be to pursue the idea that they are providing a factoring service by taking card payments on behalf of the girls. I don't suppose it'd ever get back to visa or mastercard but hopefully my bank will recognise that it's unlikely to be a legitimate practice

I don't get what you're disputing - you paid the negotiated fees for a service which was provided.

I agree that it's stupid to spend that much (or indeed, any) money on something like this but you were happy to do so at the time. You regret doing this so maybe you'll be a bit more sensible with your money in future. Stop blaming everyone else for your behaviour.

It is certainly difficult to speak to Visa or Mastercard, but it may be worthwhile spending some time searching for a way to do so

They sometimes seem to be more interested in avoiding fraud than the banks..

When have I ever said I was happy to do so at the time? If you care to read the thread you will notice that I am saying the exact opposite - that is, I never agreed to paid those amounts. Why would I bother to come on here if that was the case? Think about it. Clearly you are just being a c***.
Also, if I agreed to pay for the services why did the barman keep putting through different amounts? If I agreed £500 for argument's sake, then I'd expect that to be the amount he put through. The fact that it changed drastically from one minute to the next suggests he was scamming me. That combined with the fact that I thought I was paying for a drink and he tried charging me £3k until my friend clocked onto what was going on. It's my fault for getting drunk and not being careful with my cards but I don't think being drunk means people are allowed to steal from you, which is essentially what has happened.

I don't think they have many customers now days as the banks have stopped paying for clubs as expenses and most entertaining has to be finished by fairly early in the evening.

You were drunk, the pretty ladies wanted money and you wanted to give it to them at the time. You're totally insane if you think anyone will believe otherwise.

Bottom line, you entered your PIN and this means you agreed to the transactions which went through. This is your fault and you need to face up to your responsibility. Or you could just swear at random strangers, I bet that will help. :T

the fact that I entered my pin means absolutely nothing. If you agreed to pay 50p some milk and then later found out you'd be charged £10k would you accept it?
If the club don't have anything to do with the fee that you agree to pay then how is it that the barman changed the amount from one second to the next? There is also the small matter of the drinks that I thought I was paying for which are apparently not even included the bill - the same drinks that look suspiciously full and close to me in the photos of me paying for these transactions.

If this was all a simple case of me regretting spending too much on strippers when drunk what would I have to gain from coming on here and telling everyone about it?

If I was buying some milk, i'd like to think I would have noticed if the card machine showed £10k.

Fwiw, I think you have been ripped-off, but if you entered your PIN without checking the amount on the machine then you have to assume responsibilty.
