Hii have read through all the sticky information on this forum but I am still confused and unsure of what do do next.

I received a windscreen ticket from Excel on 3rd August.

I had parked in front of Asda Living at Crown Point in Leeds to return a TV. I didn't want to park further away as the car park was full and I needed to get the TV into the store.

I received the NTK from Excel on 15th October and emailed the ASDA store to see if the manager could get the ticket overturned. I typed up a letter to Excel as taken from the templates on these forums....

Then my wife gave birth to our daughter and all thoughts of parking tickets went out of my head...I'd not sent the letter!

Today I received a letter from TNC Parking Services with a Notice Of Intended Further Action dated 3rd December and giving me 7 days before court proceedings.

Can I still get this sorted or have I screwed myself over?

just read and follow the newbies thread, although your tardiness is likely to get you a rejection letter from Excel
  • So I can still write and request the POPLA number and go down that route?

Yes. They may decide to refuse the appeal, but it shows willing

  • Right....letter going tomorrow!
  • Also, now it's with a different company, do I write to both entities or just Excel?

But you do know it won't stop the debt collector letters so is just an exercise to look reasonable in case Excel try a small claim? You missed the chance of POPLA and you won't get it now, so don't have false hope. Just ignore everything after you've stated your case in the appeal, EXCEPT do not ignore a Letter before Claim or real small claims papers of course..
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • So, Coupon-Mad, my current letter is titled : Notice Of Intended Further Action...is that not yet a Letter Before Claim?

its a threatogram from a debt collector

the LBC would come from the original sender of the invoice, in this case EXCEL

LBC,s are explained in the lazydaisy thread linked from the crabman sticky thread

a debt collector cannot take you to court (its DRP by another name)

ignore the debt collector, and send the template to the originator which is excel

they will reply saying you are out of time

then ping pong can or will occur for 6 years with DC letters also arriving for that duration

its an LBC or MCOL originated by Excel you have to watch out for

so you have a lot to learn and read, despite this all being covered in the NEWBIES thread and other sticky threads too ;)
