  • May be worth summarising at the end a bullet list of exactly what you are now expecting back from them. Otherwise it may appear to be a bunch of comments from you which could be noted, filed and forgotten.

When are the DVLA gonna grow a pair and start taking responsibility for the information they hold and who accesses it?

To simply say, it's not our problem, we have passed it on the BPA is disgraceful and is one of the points I will be bringing up with my MP when we meet later this month.

Everytime the DVLA breach the DPA by allowing PPCs access to the database, it should be reported to the ICO. The ICO will soon get fed up and might actually force DVLA to do something about.
Plus the promises made to the EU Commissioners by the DVLA (as has been mentioned earlier) - shame that, if they had the evidence, the EU Commissioners can't take the DVLA bosses to the European Courts and fine the merry hell out of their bank balances for breaches...

Whereas when we think of PPCs, what more comes to mind is Cee-Lo Green's meaning of "forget you". ;)

So finally a letter back off the DVLA .... so I sit down for a read ........

    what ...... !!!

A DVLA complaints handling survey ....

Only thing is I am not sure which complaint its about!

should I write and ask ??? :rotfl:

It offers a form to send by snail mail or
    an online one

    https://www.snapsurveys.com/wh/s.asp?k=141837970025

Mine is going back snail mail ... but it looks like any one who has complained can fill it in.

As of yet no reply .....

so I re looked up the DVLA complaints procedure and found this porly worded statement

"A reply will be sent to you within 2 weeks from the date we receive your correspondence (this does not include weekends, or bank holidays in England and Wales)."

it could be ... 10 days 14 days 18 days ...... or less or more in Scotland :rotfl:

    So wasn't that nice?

So onward to the Independent Complaints Assessor ......

but not before complaining about receiving unsigned mail !

I am minded to ask a FOI question of the DVLA .... or several.....

How many complaints have the DVLA received in the last calender year with regards to complaints about Private Parking Companies?

    How are they recorded?

How many of them where upheld or dismissed?

I presume that I can not FOI JLA?

I suggest you redact your personal details from that letter. Not only is it against MSE's rules to post your personal details here, it's also unwise!

    I echo bazster's comment.

Correct - L JLA are a private company thus not subject to FOI Act.

It sounds to me like they are saying that they consider this to be a valid request outside of KADOE.

Not being a PPC expert, I'm not sure what the consequences of that would be.
