eBay/Argos click and collect.

What a ballache..!
Bought something off a seller on Nov 27th that was offering click and collect at Argos. Checked to see if my local store was offering this and it was. Paid for item and thought I would get a notification saying I can collect after 12 hours/next working day etc.
Wrong.
The seller posts the item to your local store and then you get told when it will be ready to collect.
It said my item would be ready around the 1st Dec.. Then it changed to the 3rd.. Then the 5th... now its saying the 11th..!
Seller says ots out of their hands as they post the item to the store and its ths store that then contact the buyer to say its ready.
Would have just asked them to post direct to me if I'd have known this.
wonder how many sellers will end up with low stars or poor feedback because of this?

Just sent my first item to an Argos store. Thankfully only a low priced item. Although bizarrely was something that would go through the letter box, so not sure why they had it sent to Argos.0

Probably the same reason I had my item sent there.0
-
My item exceeded the estimated ready time but only because the seller was slow in shipping.
Otherwise I was very happy with the service.0 -
If the ebay/argos thing was clearly worded to say that items will be sent to Argos by the seller, then I would have just asked them to post it direct to me.0

I have just got home from Argos, and am a very happy customer. They opened the post while I was collecting an item they had notified me was ready, and found 3 more parcels for me. They put them through the system immediately, and I got 3 emails with collection codes - luckily I had my tablet with me. They said the notification of readiness emails are generated by eBay.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

How else did you think it was going to get there?
This is the reason why I'm not using click and collect (apart from my items will go through standard letter boxes). An extra person is being added to the chain which could mean an extra complication. Argos are overrun this time of year as it is so I'm sure Ebay parcels (that don't add to their profit) are not a priority to sort.0 -
As a buyer I think click and collect is brilliant, not had any delays or issues. If there is a choice to be made between a seller not offering it and one that does I'll be buying from the latter.0

The idea is good until you suffer an experience that the OP has. As most people would, he went directly to the seller when the seller had sent it and it has been delayed between the mail and Argos. Out of the sellers hands but the buyer doesn't feel happy. If I sold large items, I probably would have to use it but my items are small enough for letterboxes anyway.0

I completely agree: it is now a complete deal breaker (except for small items that can get through my letter box.)Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Oh dear, do you think Argos hold all the stock of every eBay seller?
I though the buyers would have a clear understanding that its a different collection point for their parcels0
