On street view there's a 30mph sign at the top of the exit road from the A465 - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.6776885,-3.7819409,3a,90y,71.12h,67.98t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sF3QFGGaGl7SHt7OXrBFX8Q!2e0?hl=en

If you're on a 40mph road there are repeater signs roughly every 100yds.
If there are no 40mph signs then it's a 30mph road.0 -
Make sure you take some photos of the route.
However, the point about a street with no limit posted, but but with streetlights does apply, so as ROSPA say (http://www.rospa.com/roadsafety/adviceandinformation/driving/speed/toptentips/lamp-posts.aspx):Assume lamp posts mean 30 mph, until signs say otherwise – but remember it could be 20 mphThe government also advises (https://www.gov.uk/speed-limits):A speed limit of 30 miles per hour (mph) or 48 kilometres per hour (km/h) usually applies, unless you see signs showing otherwise. And from the Highway Code (https://www.gov.uk/general-rules-all-drivers-riders-103-to-158/control-of-the-vehicle-117-to-126)124
You MUST NOT exceed the maximum speed limits for the road and for your vehicle (see the table below). The presence of street lights generally means that there is a 30 mph (48 km/h) speed limit unless otherwise specified.

Exactly why I said look on the top of the slip road, as pointed out, its 30MPH from that point until it's cancelled.
This is the normal place for the 30 MPH signs when leaving a 70 MPH road so it sets out for the roundabouts as well
They don't need any other signs on any roads you turn on until there is a new limit as they have already signed it when you left the last limit.
Best to hope for a driving course.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I am not an expert on this, but I don't agree with some others on here. So do check pepipoo.
Local authorities are under rules to have proper signs up when speed limits change and a 30mph sign needs to be on both sides of the road and comply with statutory requirements. At the very least, it needs to be on your side and comply with the highway code standard signs.
So, if you were coming from, say, a 40 mph road to a 30 mph one, proper signs need to inform you.
Check with your own county, double check the sign you saw, also see the reverse signs for coming out of the new 30mph zone, take photos and I would fight it if your facts are correct.
But double check on pepipoo
.
Sorry to disagree Guys Dad but you are incorrect, I have challenged Notts council on the same thing via a FOI, answer below (Scamera vans are now appearing, never seen them previously)
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST
Your request for information has now been considered and the information requested is below.
1. When were the 40 MPH signs where removed from the Thievesdale
Lane (B6041) Farmers Branch / Blyth Road / Kilton Hill (B6045) junctions
and roads in Worksop, Bassetlaw.
All works were completed by 28th April 2014.
2. Additionally if the speed limit been reduced when was the RTA
signed conveying this.
The Traffic Regulation Order was sealed by the Legal Team at the County Council on the 25th April 2014 and order came into force on 28th April 2014.
3. If the speed limit has changed why was there no signage
indicating this.
There is no requirement under current regulations current regulations (TheTraffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 – TSRGD) for the County Council as Local Highway Authority to sign that the speed limit has been changed. For the speed limit to be legally enforceable the signage needs to be designed and installed to TSRGD 2002. The works have been
checked and the County Council can confirm that this is the case.
However, there is additional signage that can be installed (over and above the regulations) to advise drivers that a speed limit has been changed and this can only be used to indicate a 30mph limit where the existing 30pmh limit has been extended. It is not the policy of the County Council to do this on every scheme, but in this case, as a number of queries have been raised regarding the speed limit change works are being instructed to install “NEW 30MPH SPEED LIMIT IN FORCE” at the following locations:
• Northbound on Kilton Hill (in verge opposite number 170)
• Southbound on Farmers Brach (on or close to lighting column 17)
• Northbound on Blyth Road (on or close to lighting column 34)
4. If it has not been changed when are the 40MPH signs being
reinstated.
The speed limit has been changed, there the 40pmh signs will not be
reinstated.
In addition, those who are saying about street lighting particularly NWSteve, unless new street lights have been fitted, then the road should always have been a 30mph zone by your logic.

I read that as confirming Guys Dad's post.
The 30MPH signs are mandatory and are there.
The change of previous limit signs are not mandatory and the council didn't put them up, until later.0 -

So do I. The quoted article applies to additional signs over and above the statutory signs.
Read it again Dave.0
