    Hi StainlessUK

I am very sorry to hear how low you have been feeling, but at the same time glad that you have felt able to share it. I've spoken to thousands of folk with debt problems down the years, and just like Martin I'm adamant that there's always been at least one solution for each and every one of them.

Do please seek advice from one of the free charities when you feel ready to do so. Our door is very much open if you want to do so through a phone call. You can remain anonymous and you certainly won't be judged.

Wishing you nothing but good things wherever you go from here.

Speaking as someone who recently lost someone to suicide please talk to those around you and let them help you. You will be surprised by how much support becomes available to you. Suicide is an extremely final solution to a temporary problem.

Even if you didn't pay back a single penny of the money you owe, the consequences are truly trivial in comparison to ending your own life. It may seem like a monumental problem at the moment to overcome but I promise one day you will look back on this time of your life and feel like the money troubles were insignificant!

If you ever feel low, please drop me a PM and I would be delighted to help you out in any way I can. With advice or even just a willing ear.

    Hey Stainless,
Like the others have said, well done for posting and beginning to talk….no debts are worth taking your life over. You are worth so much more than any money that you owe. I know it can seem daunting, and most of us have looked at our debts and not seen a way out of them at some point, but there is a way…there ALWAYS is, and losing your life isn't the right way.
Stick around on the forum, chat to us lot who are all in the same debt boat as you, speak to family if you can…they can support you and speak to friends. It's what they are there for.

When you have a spare minute, do an SOA so we can see what your incomings and outgoings are and we can all see where we can help you sort stuff out.

    :)

Just wanted to echo what everyone on here has said. Money is only money, your life is too precious!

Do take care and even if you only come on here for support, many of us understand what you are going through. I find that my diary is the place where I vent my feelings and get everything off my chest.

Didnt want to read and run, to echo the others you must be feeling so awful but posting on here was a big step forward, and thats great! Please try to talk to your family or friends, if not there are lots of helplines out there. A visit to your GP would be really good as well as Depression is treatable with time.

With regards to money, feel free to share with us how much you owe and a statement of affairs (SOA) and the good folks on here are great at helping to point out where there is money to be saved. Contact services such as stepchange etc and talk to them about your options, if you can start to feel a little more in control it may help your piece of mind.

Best of luck and let us know how your getting on,

    Jodles :D

    Hi Stainless

Thanks for your post, I know you will not be the only one who has considered or tried to take their life over debt, its very sad but understandable in our society.

I don't know if you've been able to get back on line and seen all the replies, these are people who all care about what happens to you and want to help you find a way forward and upward.

I saw in a previous post that you had started a DMP - did something go wrong?

As I am now into month 21 of a DMP I do understand about some of the pressures you might be facing...but maybe its something else, a creditor not playing ball or an unexpected expense?

If you need to talk we are here - and the DMP mutual support threaders also, many of them may have felt the same as you at some time. Give us a go, we're non-judgemental and many have experience of mental health issues too.

StainlessUK, glad you are getting help with your problems.
If you post up an SoA on here, we can help you look at where you can cut-back.

Also, if you are in work, have you claimed all the benefits you can ?.

Not sure of your living situation, but if you are in rented accomodation you can claim HB even if you are working.

    Hi Stainless,
I have been where you are - it was really important to me to know that I was not the first person to have felt so utterly overwhelmed.

That was 16 years ago, and no life has not been easy since but by God am I glad I failed in my efforts, and I urge you to just keep going. It might seem that is the hardest thing, but just keep going. Tiny steps. Look at tiny bits of time and survive those. It WILL get better.

    Be kind to yourself. :A

Just wanted to say, I've been there too and reading some of the excellent advice already posted on here, I wish I'd had these forums as an outlet. I'm glad you're being supported. You need to make sure you keep talking to people and sharing your feelings.

Problem debt is rarely solved quickly but it can always be resolved. You are not defined by it and you are not controlled by it. There is so much more out there to look towards. Do keep posting here.
