So, apparently you need to add it as water, salt, fat then your bread mix. The timing for my GF is the same as for the rapid bake white. Sadly I noted the timer can't be used to do GF on mine. It also says the blade is more prone to sticking when doing GF so leave it to cool a few ins before trying to remove the blade. Also says some flour can be left on outside of loaf after baking but this is normal. I have never done a GF loaf so wish you best of luck.

    Bexster :)

Thank you Bexster! I'm still waiting on OH getting my breadmaker down from the attic - I don't really venture up there

Will let you know how they turn out though!

  • Not a great day money-wise. Grabbed a takeaway after work as OH didn't cook anything for me finishing at 6pm :( he was off work and at home, and knew we had to be out sharp after my work! However, he did do some washing so not all bad!

We then had to stop off and buy toilet rolls and I ended up spending £15 in the co0p! I did get some lovely reduced strawberries but I really need to learn to control myself better in these situations! :rotfl:

  • So, I had a quick look at my online banking. Managed to spend about £100 more than planned on food.
This did include a big turkey for Xmas, the giant bag of flour for all my future bread products and a 5kg bulk buy of chicken breasts. The freezer and cupboards are stocked, so going to see how long I can last without spending anymore on food! :D

  • And I am planning on working with cash for weekly food budgets from Monday(payday) onwards.

It's too easy to lose track when spending on cards.

  • Been so busy over Xmas but I'm back!:D

Managing to make my own bread, which is edible:rotfl: and I have not bought a single loaf since my giant bag of flour arrived.:j

I have also booked our honeymoon, and have saved tonnes by shopping around on skyscanner - saved £400 on flights alone!
Also compared the hotels and saved £300+ on the hotel compared to the price on expedia.

Wasn't wanting to spend loads and glad it's another thing ticked off the list. Just a veil to buy, any dress alterations and to pay for the wedding band left. Once this is all out the way I can really get stuck into overpaying and saving for the forever home!

The motivations really there just now. I love my neighbours but when they throw all their leftovers out the kitchen window and leave it lying on our shared grass, use both our bins and their own so we never have any space for our rubbish or recycling, and slam their door so hard our whole building shakes, it really, really, makes me want to move! They are such nice people too but they are stressing me out just now :rotfl:

  • Oh, and also made up a meal planner, so aiming to stick to this!

Been sticking to using cash for each weeks budget and this seems to be working. I have a separate purse for this so I don't even carry my cards anywhere now to use them. :)

I even paid for the honeymoon, and made sure I had the available money for it. Rather than pop it on the credit cards, which would have been so like me tbh! Really proud of myself :D

  • Happy new year everyone!!

My goals this year are to:

    1. Not buy any gluten free bread this year. Home made only!

    2. Save £2000 towards the forever home fund.

    3. Pay for all shopping with cash, not cards. Take out my weekly budget from the ATM and only spend what I have budgeted.

    4. Get overpaying my mortgage at every opportunity!

    5. Start a savings pot for Christmas next year.

    6. Make a dent in my unsecured debt. Work out if consolidating will benefit me or not.

    7. Climb a Munro with my Dad everytime we have corresponding days off.

  • I am still stuck on one thing...

    To consolidate or not?

My current personal loan is 6.9% but firstdirect have loans at 4% right now. It would make sense to switch as there's still a couple of years on my old loan.

I also have debt on a couple of credit cards (but these are 0% currently) and a student overdraft (0% but will go to £1 a day in Sept 15)

If I consolidated, I would save interest in some areas but gain it in others. I would however have more money spare per month to make overpayments as I would have less going out to unsecured debt (making one repayment rather than multiple to different debts leaves me around £100 better per month).

    What do you all think?

  • So, we have had terrible winds up here in Scotland. This has left us with all the flashing off the roof and the bare wood exposed :eek: no power or phone signals at all this morning either!:(

Everytime I feel like I might just be getting everything under control, something happens that requires money being spent.

I really need to build up an emergency fund, but if I keep on having emergencies all the time, I'm never going to be able to save one up:rotfl:

Not Long ago it was the boiler that needed replaced, and I had to spend all the savings I had for when I finished uni and more!

More wind forecast for tonight and snow tomorrow. Tacked the flashing back in place just now but will probably be off in the morning again!:rotfl:
